PPSANailChallenge week 1 – Red

Hi lovelies,

Happy Friday!  It’s been a really busy week and it doesn’t look like things will slow down any time soon.  It’s kinda fun to have a full calendar but when time is already precious it can get a little hectic.  But it is weekend and even though we will be busy we will also be having tons of fun.  

It’s time for the second prompt for the #PPSANailChallenge and that is red

Well now, seems simple right?  As usual I had so many ideas and agonised for ages about what to do.  I eventually settled on something I have been wanting to try for a while now.  Let me show you

I started with a gradient of various reds.  I used Essence – Fame fatal, Essence – Do you speak love and Essence – Red ahead.  I then topcoated and let that dry completely.  Once it was I dry I stamped using Pueen65 and Essence Satin matte topcoat.  I really wanted to do a matte and shiny stamping design and even though it worked really well, I am not sure if it is obvious that it is a matte-ish stamp?  This was actually my second attempt.  I used different reds the first time around but the more I wore it the more the lightest red looked orange to me.  I know it is red but I think next to a darker, deeper red it showed up more of the orange tones.  So after taking photos, editing and half way through writing that post I just couldn’t.  I knew I had to redo it.  I definitely prefer these reds so much more.
