Have you had a good week? This week has felt very long but not in a dragging bad way. I actually feel quite productive. I don’t really have big weekend plans either. It’s time for a bit of a spring clean and then I would like to knock a few more things of that ever growing to-do list. What about you?
In early September I got the China Glaze – Ready to wear collection. This is the autumn (fall) collection for 2018. I knew that I was going to love this collection when I saw the very first promo images and it definitely did not disappoint. I wanted to swatch this collection immediately but I was just getting started with #31DC2018 and then trying to catch up and get back to regular scheduling. I finally managed to get it swatched and I am so excited to share it.
Before I start I need to mention that my Swatch Out got a bit man-handled in transit so I didn’t have that one to swatch, but the minute I get the replacement I will add it to this post. Right, let me show you the rest,
China Glaze – Aut-umn I need that
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a dark jelly with gold. I think the base is more oxblood / brown but it looks black. I really really love this. I think it looks so much better than my photos can show. The glitter in this polish has some colour shifting happening. You can see this more in the bottle (look closer to the bottom of the bottle) but you can see it on the nail in some light. This is so unique and different, perfect for autumn and even halloween if you’re into it. The formula is great and it applies beautifully.
China Glaze – Central parka
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a dark camo / olive green creme. I used this beaut in this post of the 31DC2018 and I loved it then as much as I do now. It is probably not a unique colour (I am not sure how similar Essence – Olive you is. Shout if you want a comparison) but it sure is a beautiful colour and this formula is stunning. It applied beautifully and this one is super opaque too and you could get away with one coat if you wanted to.
China Glaze – Chic happens
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is described as a purple grey metallic and it is a perfect description. I like that it is isn’t purple or grey but a nice mix between depending on the lights. This applied well and is very opaque. It was a little brush stroky at first but it dried down beautifully. I really love this colour.
China Glaze – Haute blooded
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a dark red with shimmer that dries to a matte finish. This is dark and more oxblood toned than apple toned red but it is ridiculously gorgeous. It applied beautifully and evenly I love how it looks matte. It does have a glorious shimmer with topcoat though so let me show you that.
China Glaze – Mustard the courage
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a mustard creme and I am in love. I definitely think this colour is super on trend this year. I am seeing a lot of it and I like it. I think this is a little more green toned than accent piece and it doesn’t have shimmer. This has a great formula as well and very opaque.
China Glaze – Pay it fashion forward
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is described as a purple glitter and it definitely has a few different shades of purple in there. I wanted to love it because it is gorgeous in the bottle. I don’t hate it. It applied well and has a good formula. I just didn’t love it.
China Glaze – Pleather weather
This is 3 coats with no topcoat. When I started applying this one I thought it was a grey jelly. It was sheer and shiny. Then it started drying matte and I was like……….what!? This is a light grey creme that had me confused. It is sheer like a jelly but it’s matte. It boils up beautifully though. I used 3 coats here but you might get away with 2 depending on your coats and preference. The formula is good. It’s on the thin side so doing 3 coats was easy breezy. I actually really really like this shade of grey. I am sure I have something similar (shout if you want a few grey comparisons) but something about this one was just amazing. This obviously dries matte so let me show you this with topcoat.
China Glaze – Sample sizing me up
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a blue creme. For me this is a grey toned blue. It’s really beautiful and with a gorgeous formula. I really like the shiny finish too.
China Glaze – Throwing suede
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a pink toned light nude. It’s beautiful just like any other pink toned light nude. It has a nice formula and applied well.
China Glaze – Vest friends
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. In the bottle I thought this was a slate / gunmetal grey metallic but the minute I started painting it on my nails I saw the green tint. This is a grey and green shimmery metallic beautiful combination. It applies well and is nice and opaque too. This is a favourite and a surprise for me.
China Glaze – You don’t know jacket
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a navy blue creme. It applies beautifully and is quite opaque with a very shiny finish. I love it even though it is just a navy blue creme. It’s a beaut.
That is! What do you think? Which one is your favourite? I really really love Swatch out which I wasn’t able to swatch and I can’t wait to get it again. I don’t know if I can really choose a favourite because I like most of them. I think Haute blooded is so luxurious but I really love Central parka, mustard the courage and aut-umn I need that. Oh gosh I can’t choose. I think as a whole collection this is a big favourite for me. Let me know if you want to see any comparisons. I haven’t done one of those in a while.
