A few days before Christmas hubby went out to fetch some supplies for the drainage etc. While he was out he sent me a message saying that he had a big surprise for me. I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I was trying to figure out what he could’ve gotten me from the places he was going. I was stumped.
When he got home I met him at the car and he lifted something off his lap and handed it to me. It was the cutest, most cuddly little puppy ever! Meet Charlie:
Isn’t he just the cutest? It’s so hard to take photo’s of him because he is SO black. He is such a cutie. Our biggest problem is that his previous owners really really spoilt him. For the first few days he would cry terribly to be picked up every time he wanted to sleep. He was also supposed to sleep outside from night one. Unfortunately he made such a racket. It wouldn’t bother us so much as our room is on the other side of the house but the in-laws were sleeping in the room right where he was supposed to sleep. We tried it for one night and heard all about it the next morning. haha. We had to let him sleep in our room. He is typical puppy. Chewed everything he possibly could. *sigh* but isn’t he just too cute??
We are now back to making him sleep outside. He is absolutely fine the whole night but as soon as it starts to get light in the morning he escapes and makes his way to the sliding door of our room. He then sits out there and yelps and cries as loud as he possibly can. This is not so much fun. In fact, I can’t remember when last I actually slept later than 5:30. If you know me you know this is a big problem. I am not a morning person. At all!! Not cool Charlie!!
We hope that he will get over it soon enough. I don’t understand why he can quite happily sleep outside the whole night. Isn’t it usually the other way around? *sigh*
Luckily for him he is super cute though 😉
**Edited to add: This little bugger has managed to chew right through my Beats by Dr Dre earphones. No wait, not chew…shred. Then he chewed through my Macbook charge cable as well. He is a terror and he seems to be targeting me. *sob*

that puppy is too cute!
reading your post makes me glad i adopted an adult dog from the SPCA – my pekingese is house-trained and doesn’t chew anything. it’s blissful!

Thanks he is super cute even though he is a terror. Every. Single. Time we say we won’t do this again and rather go for an adopted older dog but every. single. time we end up with a puppy.
I must admit though this is the first time we are having such a hard time. I think it’s the timing. Having tons of visitors meant we couldn’t immediately start with his routine and now he is a spoilt terror. That’ll teach us!!
Your pekingese is SO cute!!! I love that face!!
