I know, I know. Like we need more Edward and Bella right? I can already hear the groans. Try and look past the name though and look at the pretty.
I’ve been seeing these Essence twins for a while now but only recently has the ‘reloaded’ polishes been available here. I am slightly annoyed though because these twins come in a base color and a glitter topper. The only complete set they had in stock though was ‘Edward & Bella’. They did have the base coat of ‘Romeo’ and ‘Carrie’ but none of the glitter toppers.
The base colour of this set is ‘Edward’, a soft blue shade. I just have to say that I LOVE this blue colour! It reminds me very much of Essence – Absolutely Blue but I will have to actually compare them side by side to be certain. I knew that because of all the layers that thinner coats would be best. I had the slightest amount bit of patchy spots but I will definitely not be making the coats so thin. I thought because of the glitter topper it would end up ok anyway. Either way, love the blue. Have a look for yourself. This is two coats.
‘Bella’ is the glitter topper for this twinsie set. Bella is teeny tiny royal blue and silver glitter with slightly bigger silver hex glitter. Then there are bigger blue and silver squares. I originally though they were black but turns out they were blue. I am not really a glitter fan but this was so very pretty. I liked that it was simple and different sizes. Even though it looked really subtle it certainly had a great sparkle! I will let the pictures talk for themselves. There are a few so be prepared.
I really liked this combination. Edward was lovely to work with even though I made a bit of a mistake with the thin coats. Bella was just as easy to work with. No fishing or placing of glitters. These are all one coat of glitter except my ring finger has two thin coats. I definitely can’t wait to get my hands on more of these. So pretty!
What do you think? If you can forget about the couple it was named after. I don’t mind it, it’s just a name right! I love this blue. You can find these at Dischem for R19.95 per bottle. That means it is R19.95 for the base colour and R19.95 for the glitter topper. Let me know what you think!
by the way. Do you think I need to make the photos in my posts a bit bigger? I know you can see a bigger version by clicking on it but should I make them bigger from the get go? Would love to hear your opinion.
Thanks for reading!

I spotted these in Dischem the other day and also didn’t see the glitter tops for the others. Looks really beautiful. I like bigger photos in post, but there isn’t anything wrong with the sizes you use 🙂

I don’t quite understand why they wouldn’t have the toppers 🙁
Thanks for the feedback. I am going to figure out how to get them to display bigger in my posts. Thanks!

Gaaaaaaah, blue! And glitter! So pretty! Even though the names makes me gringe into my toes, these are beautiful together! I think they should’ve called the glitter topper Edward though…just saying! Lol

LOL Thea!! I couldn’t agree more. I would expect the sparkly and shiny to be names “Edward’ as well but I am guessing someone didn’t see the irony! 😛

I do really like the base color…very pretty! Not that I don’t like the glitter, but the base is the best part for me. 😉

HAHA!! I LOVE the base colour too. It’s so pretty. I am not really a glitter fan but as far as glitters go that is really pretty too!

Love the blue. Love the glitter. What more can I say?
Oh! I’ve always loved how Essence is no fish glitter! Love that about them!

I really loved this combination!! I was also really impressed.

I love, love, love the glitter! I have noticed that I am partial to glitter toppers that have different size/shape glitters in them, with the exception of bar glitters which I do not like. Still hoping that I can find a tinted jelly polish with multi-glitter somewhere in this country!

I also really loved this glitter. To be honest I think this was the turning point for me as far as glitter goes. This has made me fall in love.
I know it might not be exactly what you are looking for but you should look at L A Colors when you go to Dischem again. They have a few coloured jelly polishes with glitter. I know I saw a dark pinkish one with round and heart shaped glitter as well as blue and I think green with different size round glitter. Maybe an option?
