Hi lovelies,
I mentioned in an earlier post how it is all a little crazy this side. I am finally starting to get back into the swing of things after the holiday season and my normal routine should be back from next week. In the mean time I just had to tell you about this amazing book I read over Christmas.
I have a very wide love of books. I can read almost anything and my requirements are pretty easy to meet. I read some OK books, some good books and once in a while I come across a really fabulous and amazing book. This is one of those.
Melissa Delport contacted me and asked me if I would like to read her book to review (thank you cupcakemummy and Sharon) . I was super excited and jumped at the chance. She immediately sent me the code for the ebook. I only managed to get around to starting it the next day and within the first few pages I was completely hooked. I took every opportunity I could to read a few pages (even while cooking). I was almost a little sad when I finished it because it was over.
This is by far my favourite book of 2013 – if not of all time. I don’t want to give anything away about the storyline but it is funny, romantic, sad and there is nothing predictable about any part of it. I was hooked!
Paige’s father has Alzheimers, and her fiancé is shot and killed in an armed robbery. Paige fights her depression and pulls herself out of the dark place that she has succumbed to, with monumental effort and a new-found determination to live her life to the fullest, doing things that both terrify and exhilarate her.
When Paige meets Adam, the attraction is instantaneous. Adam grew up in an orphanage and has no recollection of his life before the age of six. Paige falls head over heels in love and embraces a happiness she never dreamed possible. Until the day she finds Adam in bed with another woman.
Wanting nothing more to do with him, Paige cuts Adam out of her life, until she receives a mysterious visitor, who reveals secrets about Adam’s past that shock Paige to her very core.
Determined to fight for the man that she loves, Paige finds herself on a journey that will change her life forever.
The minute you think you know what is going to happen next you get thrown for a loop. Do yourself a favour. Read this book. You will not regret it. And if you hurry you can still get this on Amazon for $0.99. Hurry because it is just for a few more hours. Go check it out here.
Another absolute win for me is that the author Melissa Delport is local. I can’t wait to read more from this very talented South African author. You can find out more about this and other books as well as read Melissa’s blog (which is brilliant) here. You can also follow her on twitter and Facebook.
I can not explain how much I loved this book and really recommend it. Have you read it? What did you think of it? Let me know if you decide to pick up this book and what you think of it. I will be starting on the Legacy Series soon as well.
Have a great weekend. Hopefully you will be wrapped up in some ‘Rainfall’ 😉
Thanks for reading!

I don’t have an e-reader or much time to read, but I’m intrigued!

I don’t have an e-reader either but I have an app. AMAZING book. I wish I could read it again without knowing the ending.

I absolutely adored this book and I must admit, reading is one of my absolute guilty pleasures!

Me too. Absolutely loved it. Hahaha same here. I try to read every chance I get. My husband knows I can’t walk past a book store without a little squeal and a walk through. Up until recently I refused to buy books as e-books because nothing beats a real paper book in your hands but my love for reading has won over and I am not reading both paper books and e-books. 😛

Oh wow! I’ll be dead honest…you know I am a book snob! And when I read you did a book review I wasn’t too interested (I’m sorry Schmemmi!) but you genuinely made me now want to read this book! It sounds really intriguing!
