Hi lovelies,
Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? Ready for the new week? I had a really great weekend but I am not sure if I am ready for the week.
Born Pretty Store is a great place to stock up on nail art and I have shown you quite a few of their stamping plates and studs etc. Today I have something a little different (for me). I am sure most of you have heard of the ‘liquid palisade’ or liquid latex that is a must have for water marbles, gradients, stamping, you name it. It makes clean up a breeze. Today I have Born Pretty Store version of the white peel off liquid tape. You can find it here (or click on the image below)
I used it when I did this review and I really liked it. I have to say, I have never used any other alternative so I am not comparing it to any other product. I can only rate this on my own experience of this product.
This comes in a ‘polish’ bottle with a brush. it is a white thickish liquid that you can apply with the brush.
It is a nice thick consistency and applied really easily. I applied it thick enough for it to appear white on my skin. I then left it to dry completely.
It took a bit of time for it to dry completely and once it was, it was see through. If you didn’t know it was there you probably wouldn’t be able to see it. Right on the edges I could see it easily enough to start lifting it. When it was dry, it was time to start with the gradient.
I did a sponged gradient and really went to town and getting it all over my ‘skin’. This would usually mean lots of clean up so I was quite nervous and hoping this liquid tape would do the trick.
Look at that, I was able to lift the edges quite easily. The bigger test was getting it all off…..
So far so good….
Almost there…
Done! I was really happy that I was able to get it all off in one go. I didn’t have any bits and pieces left behind and certainly a lot less cleanup to do. I didn’t get it right into my cuticles because I wasn’t sure how it would affect the polish but that is definitely the next thing I will try. So I am left with a little bit of cleanup but definitely a lot less then it would’ve been had I not used this. This is also less cleanup than using regular tape so it is definitely a win for me.
This peel off tape also came off in one piece. This might not sound like much of a big deal but I really loved this. It means that I don’t have to worry about little bits left behind or have to ‘scrape’ off any residue. Once I peeled it off it was all gone and I was good to go.
I am really impressed with this product. I might not have anything to compare it to but it certainly met all my requirements and does the job really well. This will definitely make those ‘messy’ nail art jobs a breeze now. My only slight negative is that it takes more than a minute to dry. This isn’t really a big deal as I think it is unreasonable to have the expectation of anything drying almost instantly. What I do now is apply the liquid tape and then apply my base coat and colour. Which means by the time my polish is dry and ready to go the liquid tape is way dry too. I barely even noticed the ‘dry time’. This product can also be used as a peel off base coat for when you do swatching or using glitter. I haven’t tried it yet but I certainly will be soon.
Have you tried this product or anything similar? What is y our experience? I can definitely recommend this product AND the plus side is that this product is currently marked down on Born Pretty Store by more than 50%. Its a great time to go grab it for yourself. Don’t forget to use my affiliate link (in the sidebar) and or my 10% off code below. You can use this code for anything in the store so while you are there why don’t you pop a few other goodies in your basket too. You won’t be sorry.
Thanks for reading,
Juanita
I actually have the Simply Peel one, which is awesome! I tried the Nail Candi one and didn’t like it much. And I have OPI glitter off base for glitters.
