Hello lovelies,
Did you have a good weekend? I am happy to report that I feel a ton better and was even able to do the Totalsport women’s race yesterday. I would love to catch up on some sleep but at least now I CAN sleep! What did you get up to? I hope it was good regardless.
I told you the other day I have a lot of stamping plates to show you and I wasn’t kidding. I have at least 5 sets to show you and this is only 2 in. So fun! The set I am showing you today is the Shangri-La set from Bundle Monster. It’s a 10 piece square set of plates with full plate images. Let me show you all about it before I give you my opinion.
As usual, the plates arrived in a little plastic pouch
And each plate is covered in a blue protective film that has to be removed before use.
I really like all the round images here but my favourite is the slightly middle ‘flower’ that has the ‘leaves’ coming off it.
That big sun shape in the middle. Love! The little flame like edges are gorgeous.
More swirly images in every pattern you could want.
I like the mix of flowers and swirls
This is so delicate and fine I am dying to use it!
Another favourite with fine, delicate images with a mix of flowers and swirls
and more!
I like the geometric shapes here. Such variety.
I really love this set. I was a bit concerned at first that the images but be all a bit too similar. It’s why I took so long to purchase it but I am so glad I did. Each plate has such a different variety of images even though it is all swirly and ‘busy’. You can do so much with set. Decals, lead lighting, normal stamping, you name it. I have a million ideas to do with this set but I settled on one to show you today.
I started with 2 coats of Morgan Taylor – La Dolce Vita on my pinky and index. On my middle and ring I started with a base coat and then stamped using BM-S104 and MoYou stamping polish in black. I used a thin nail art brush to make a black border around the stamping using Sinful Colors – Black on black. I then made my own ‘smokey’ topcoat by mixing a few drops of Sinful Colors – Black on black with a clear polish and adding a coat of that over everything. I used a big and a smaller dotting tool and black polish to make the dots on the pink. Topcoated and that was that. I really like how it came out. It’s soft and girly but a little bad-ass with the black as well. What do you think? I also have a swatch for you.
Morgan Taylor – La dolce vita
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. The softest baby pink creme of deliciousness has a great formula and opacity. It applied so beautifully with no streaks or patches. Definitely a favourite for me!
What do you think of this stamping plate set? Do you have a favourite plate? I’d love some ideas for future nail art using these plates so hit me up with your suggestions!
