Hello lovelies,
Happy Friday! Seriously though, where has February gone? Wasn’t it just Christmas last week? Baby Lia is already a week old and I can see the weather is changing. I am very excited about a new season and cooler weather but surely it can’t already be happening? How has your week been?
It’s time for another Friday Triad post with Juanita and Joyce . So once a month we will make turns choosing someones nail art to use as inspiration for this post. You can look forward to these posts on the last friday of each month. This month Joyce chose this post by Pshiiit as our inspiration. I absolutely love this and I was really drawn to the colours she used. I knew I wanted to stay in the same colour spectrum to a degree. Let me show you what I did
I started off with 1 coat of Sinful Colors – Snow me white as a base and left that to dry completely. I then did a stamper smoosh using Zoya – Neely, Essence – Rock my soul, Sinful Colors – Pine away, Essence – #paradise, Essence – Deep sea, baby and Sinful Colors – Opal glitter for some sparkle. I smooshed and left that to dry completely. I then stamped over it using BM604 and Mundo de Unas – black. I topcaoted and that was that. I didn’t love it. I don’t know why. I like the colours and I like how the smoosh turned out. I like the stamping. For some reason it just isn’t working for me.
What do you think? I don’t know if I should’ve changed the colours or what it was but you win some, you lose some. I don’t think it comes anywhere near the original though 😉 I can’t wait to see what the other ladies did so don’t forget to check out Juanita and Joyce to see how they interpreted the inspiration as well. Also, this week #52weeknailchallenge from Polish Portfolio the prompt is ‘Inspired by a blogger’
So I am putting this one in that prompt as well.
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
This looks great!
We must have been thinking among the same lines as you used the stamp that was my backup plan in case the vinyls were too hard after all. I actually tried to copy the design with vinyls 😀
Michelle Roberts
woohoo! I think the thing I love most about this triad thing is seeing how we were ‘inspired’ in the same way or sometimes completely different. I really loved what you did even though you struggled with the vinyls. So thank you, high praise. xx
Siobhan
I love the galaxy feel to it!
Michelle Roberts
Ah thanks so much V! I was hoping it would have a bit of a galaxy feel!
Juanita
I also felt like mine was missing something. That’s why I decided to use different vinyls. I wanted to stamp, but I thought I’d rather go with what I knew. And don’t suck at.
Michelle Roberts
Pffft, You definitely don’t suck at stamping but I hear you. Love what you did!
