Hey guys,
Happy Friday! This week has gone by so fast! Are you on holiday yet? Is your holiday starting today? Do you have fun plans? My holiday officially starts today so it will be a little quieter around these parts. I do still have posts scheduled for the #52weeknailchallenge and Friday Triad and there might even be a Tuesday Stamping post somewhere in the mix. I will be back to regular scheduling on the week of the 8th. I hope you are safe and happy and filled with joy for the rest of the holidays! x
Today’s nails are completely inspired by my dearest Briget. She shared this post with me on Instagram and I think both of us fell in love. Briget and I went back and forth about recreating it and then she went and knocked it out of the park here too. At this point I knew I had to try it as well. So let me show you what I did.
I started with 2 coats of Essence – Meet me under the mistletoe on my index, middle and pinky and 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on my ring finger. I have to just mention here that as soon as I finished with these nails and I got up to take some photos, I drop the bottle of Essence polish. It shattered and splattered all over my polish room floor but even more shattered was my heart. I am absolutely in love with this green polish AND it was limited edition. I am devastated. So this is really the last nail art that I will ever be able to do with this polish. I am heartbroken about it because just look how gorgeous it is!!! Anyway, back to the nails. Once it was all dry I used a think nail art brush and Meet me Under the Mistletoe I made a rough circle on my ring finger. I then used regular topcoat to place the silver ribbon charm on the top of the circle I then placed little green rhinestones in random fashion around the circle and making sure to pop a little red rhinestone in-between all the green. I carried on with the rhinestones to complete the circle around the ribbon. I topcoated over the rhinestones and ribbon charm to make sure everything stayed put. On my other nails I topcoated with a matte topcoat. That was that.
What do you think? Do you think it is a good reflection of the original? I really really liked how this came out. I don’t know if it is as good as the original because I like the simplicity of the gold and green but I definitely liked how this turned out. I am obsessed with this green 🙁 especially matte. Let me know what you think and check out the original and Briget’s version too.
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
Oh no!!! I’m so sorry you dropped that lovely green :'(
I absolutely adore your nails! I wish I could find tiny rhinestones so I could do the same…
