Hey lovelies,
Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? I had a pretty good one with just enough relaxing mixed in with my to-do list. I had my first early morning gym session in months today and even though it was good to get back to early mornings, I sure could’ve done with a bit more sleep. What did you get up to?
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is animal and this was harder than I expected. My initial reaction is to do animal print but I am also aware that this a prompt in the 31 day challenge as well. I am still considering doing it so I am keeping those prompts in the back of my mind all the time. I also wanted to use a vinyl and even that I had 2 ideas for. So in the end I went for an animal I could use the vinyl for and here we have it.
I started with 1 coat of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on all my nails and left that to dry completely. On my pinky and ring finger I did a smoosh using China Glaze – Bare attack and China Glaze – Fresher than my clique. Once that was completely dry I used the Dinosaur vinyl from Because I Shop. I used the footprints and the head one here as I wanted it to look fossil like. I applied the vinyls randomly and used China Glaze – Pixilated, making sure to remove the vinyl immediately. On my middle finger and index I did a sponged gradient using China Glaze – Daisy know my name?, China Glaze – None of your risky business, China Glaze – Sultry solstice and China Glaze – Sun-set the mood. Once the gradient was completely dry I used the vinyls again. I used 2 different dinosaur vinyls and used Sinful Colors – Black on black, making sure to remove the vinyl immediately. I then used a thin brush to make the black tip representing ground. I topcoated everything and ta-daah!
I had a few concerns. I wasn’t sure if I made the ‘fossils’ too light to be noticeable. I also wasn’t sure if it worked together. I wasn’t sure if I should’ve done one or the other but in the end I liked both and wanted to use both. What do you think?
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
I love the left two fingers, I love the right two fingers… not so sure if I love the combination but it definitely is a great manicure for the prompt and I didn’t even have to read the explanation to see what it meant so that’s a win 🙂

That is kinda exactly how I felt. I like both ‘versions’ but I wasn’t sure if they worked together. Yay for it at least making sense for the prompt though right ;). Thank you!
