Hello hey hi,
Oh boy, now it gets interesting. I am going to try and keep up with this challenge as well as Tuesday Stamping as much as I can. You might get real tired of me real fast 😉
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is spring and even though it is usually a pretty easy prompt, I started off with a different idea. But when I did the Triad post last week I was completely inspired by the image I used to stamp with and I knew I wanted to use it for this prompt. So let me show you what I did,
I started with 3 coats of Sinful Colors – Butter kup on my middle and index fingers, 2 coats of Essie – Mod square on my ring finger and 2 coats of Essie – Sit-in’ pretty on my pinky. While that was drying I started on the flowers. I stamped using BP-L067 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I then coloured in the flowers using Essie – Mod square and Essie – Sittin’ prett. I added some Essie – Navigate her for greenery on the flowers. I then applied it to my middle and index, topcoated and voila!
I used Butter kup for the first time here and I did a swatch. So let me show you and tell you what I think
Sinful Colors – Butter kup
This is 3 coats with no topcoat. I absolutely love this colour. It’s a pale yellow packed with a shimmer. I was a little disappointed with how it looked on the photo. In real life it looked pretty opaque but on the photos here I can see it looks very patchy. It had a decent formula and applied well but I definitely think it needs at least one more coat. I’m sure another coat will be easy enough but I am not sure if it is worth 4 + coats. I think it is gorgeous and makes an amazing base for nail art. I just don’t see me wearing this alone. Which is a pity because it is such a gorgeous colour.
What do you think? Does this look springy enough? Does it work? What do you like doing for spring nails? Also, what do you think of butter kup? Do you think it’s worth the extra coats or good as is?
Thanks for reading,
Cindi
