Hey lovelies,
I hope you had a spectacular weekend. I did some spring cleaning and also got hooked on a show on Netflix. It was delightful but I can’t wait to finish it so I can sleep a bit more ;). Did you do anything fun?
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is pastel and for the first time in ages I wasn’t feeling the pastel. I usually love pastel shades. I’m not sure if I wasn’t feeling pastel or if I actually just had no idea what to do with the pastel ;). Let me show you what I did come up with though,
I started with 2 coats of Morgan Taylor – La dolce vita on my pinky and index and 2 coats of Seche – Perfectly poised on my middle and ring finger. While that was drying I got to work with the decals. I stamped using Lina – Feeling shapely 03 and Mundo de Unas – Sorbet. I then used a thin nail art brush and Morgan Taylor – La dolce vita and filled in the middle of the dotted shapes of the image. I then removed the thinner lines between the shapes and just placed the ‘centres’. I topcoated and that was that.
I really liked the combination of colours here and the pastel green and pink just works so well together. Don’t you think? I was also surprised by how much I liked the yellow. Let me show you a swatch
Seche – Perfectly poised
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a yellow creme with a nice formula. It is also nice and opaque, especially for a yellow. It looks a bit mustard once I added it with the pink but it’s a really pretty, lemon yellow. I am quite fond of this. Don’t forget you can pop over to my store to grab some Seche polish for yourself.
What do you think? Does it work? Is it pastel enough? How do you feel about pastel polish and nail art? Any ideas for me for next time?
Thanks for reading
Joyce
I really like what you did here, even though I’m not completely sold on the combination of this particular pink, mint and yellow. Maybe a brighter grass green would have done it for me, or a glittery one… maybe even holo! Or maybe I’m just not in a pastel mood as spring is still SO far away… 4 months… 120 days… almost 3000 hours!! *wants to hide under the covers and hibernate until it’s warm again*

Hahahahaha! If it is any consolation I would trade with you in a heartbeat. Even though the weather is hellfire one day and cool the next, the hellfire heat is enough to make me want winter every day.
