Hello hi hey,
I hope you have had a fabulous week so far. I can definitely tell I need the holidays sooner rather than later. Only a few weeks to go right? 😉
It’s time for the next instalment of Polished Pretties Monthly Mani. The secret Santa girls group (affectionally known as Polished Pretties – mostly because of the facebook group of the same name) had a discussion one day about how the Friday Triad feature was born. So we came up with the idea of doing something similar. On the second Wednesday of every month one of us will choose something as inspiration. It can be any image and it can be interpreted in any way. The ladies involved are (linking to IG) Heather, Melliska, Thea, Angela, Juanita, Briget Ren and me. This month it was Heather’s turn to choose again. She chose an image and said ‘Gemstones”. Let me show you what she chose.
Originally I had an idea to stamp with a big rock type gemstone image an use jewel tones to colour it in. I then opened my tub with my rhinestones and studs and I was surprised by how many I had and the variety. So I immediately knew I had to use them and take this quite literal. Let me show you what I did.
I started with 2 coats of Color Club – Just my luck on all my nails. I then went to work with different sizes of the various rhinestone studs I had and tried to cover my index and middle nail completely. I then used 1 of each colour and placed them on my pinky and ring finger. That was that!
I was quite inspired by the inspo image and how the various shapes and colours of gemstones were just lying in a simple background. Also by how it is a close pile and then at the edge a few spread out. I must say these rhinestone studs were super blingy and shiny and I actually really enjoyed having them on my nails. The way they caught the light was just stunning. Obviously this isn’t really practical so I didn’t wear it for long. What do you think of the inspo? How would you interpret it? I can’t wait to see what all the ladies have come up with! Don’t forget to check them out on IG.
Thanks for reading,

Love it! Though I’d pick the gems 😀

Thank you! Yes! This is definitely not a ‘wear it for a bit’ mani 😉

Hahahaha it’s not wearable. That’s for sure. But it is striking.
