Hi lovelies,
By the time you read this I will be fetching my cousin from the airport and I will be snuggling with her and Wian. Fun times!!!! I am SO excited.
Today is inspired by colour and I don’t think it will come as much as a surprise when you see the colour I chose. Of course, it’s pink 😛 Not only because I am obsessed with pink but also because it is for a good cause. As I am sure you know, October is breast cancer awareness month. In this event hosted by NailCandi you will find out how you can make a difference by having beautiful pink nails and sending an sms to 40158 to donate R20. Today I am sharing my contribution. I really hope you will take part as well.
I started with 2 coats of Ice Box – Turkish lights on my index and middle fingers and 2 coats of Ice Box – Ive’s berry ice on my pinky. On my ring finger I used 2 coats of Morgan Taylor – it’s my party and left everything to dry completely. Once it was dry I stamped over the holo on my index and middle finger using plate BM321 and Essence stampy polish in white. I actually wanted a light pink but there wasn’t much contrast. Luckily the white stamping turned a slight pinkish shade thanks to the very pigmented holo polish underneath. It resulted in exactly the look I was after. On my pinky I took pink loose glitter and placed it in the ribbon form. I top coated everything and done. I originally wanted to go to town with everything that I had that was pink but when I decided to incorporate the breast cancer awareness I think it was just enough. What do you think? Here is mother photo with my sms donation confirmation. Simple, easy and a great cause.
Let me show you the polishes I used.
Ice Box – Turkish lights
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It is a beautiful purple toned pink holo polish. I love the Ice box formulas and they have great opacity as well. This photo was taken in my lightbox and you can see a little bit of the holo. In sunlight the holo is beautiful!
Ice Box – Iva’s berry ice
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a beautiful blue toned pink creme with great formula and opacity.
Morgan Taylor – It’s my party
This was not an easy polish to photograph! The sparkly really drove my camera nuts. This is insanely sparkly. This is 2 coats with no topcoat and no undies. I will take a better photo and replace this one I promise. In the mean time this is a glitter that looks mostly rose gold ish but if you look closely you will see pink, rose gold, mint, silver and a hint of teal as well. It is very shiny and creates an almost mirror like look. It’s so gorgeous.
So that is that. What do you think of my inspired by colour and breast cancer support idea? Please check out the event I linked above and consider taking part. It is a really great cause.

Beautiful mani! Also cool how you were able to pick your favorite color and make it meaningful beyond that, too!
