Hi lovelies,
Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? Tomorrow is a public holiday here (Day of Reconciliation) and I am sure many people have gone on leave already. What are you up to? Are you getting ready for Christmas? We are off to go do some Christmas shopping today. Wish us luck!!
As I am sure you have noticed Christmas nail art is all over and I am never one to disappoint. So welcome to the week before Christmas otherwise knows as….only christmas nail art week. I wore this to our #BWB gift exchange and our last meet of the year. It seemed appropriate to have gifts on my nails as we were all exchanging gifts. So let me show you.
I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Swing baby and left that to dry completely. Once it was dry I used striping tape to make the horizontal and vertical lines on each nail. I then topped it off with Zoya – Chyna and removed the tape immediately after doing each nail. I then left that to dry completely. I was lucky here because we had load shedding so I had a good 2 hours to let it dry properly :/ Once it was dry I used Swing baby again with a thin nail art brush to do the bows – freehand! They are not perfect, but they’ll do. I didn’t topcoat it because of the texture of Chyna. This was so sparkly and beautiful. So much so that you get an extra picture.
I love Chyna and it is one of the most beautiful textures BUT as soon as you put it over a regular polish it isn’t quite as textured and I also don’t think it kept its beautiful red colour. Of course, I had to show you the swatches of these two beautiful polishes as well.
Zoya – Chyna
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It is a beautiful red texture polish with red glitter. This is so sparkly and beautiful!
China Glaze – Swing baby
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. Iy is a champagne ish foil but if you look closely you can see silver, gold and coppery particles. It makes it look more gold without the yellow tones.
So what do you think of these? Don’t you think red and gold is a perfect Christmas combination? Not exclusively of course but it suits christmas very well.
