Hi lovelies,
Are you having a good week so far? I am, and it seems to be flying. So is this month.
It’s time for another review from Born Pretty Store. I’ve mentioned before that Born Pretty Store is one of my favourite places to get my nail art supplies. This is the last plate they sent me of this batch and so far I have loved all of them. This plate is BP-18 and you can find it here (or click on the image)
Each full nail image is quite big and easily fit all of my nails. The image on the left is almost double the length of the others and can be used to create the image across 2 nails. As before, the one thing that I really like and consider an improvement, is the back of the plate.
The back of the plate now has a paper backing. I don’t know if only the newer plates have this or if they are starting to implement this into all their plates but I think it’s fantastic. It is so much easier to hurt or cut yourself on the sharp edges of the plates when it doesn’t have this backing. I am a fan, great job Born pretty Store!
The minute I saw this plate I was drawn to the feathers on the right. I once again had so many ideas for all the images (and I will actually be using it again soon – consider it a second review 😉 ) but the feathers had to be first. It made me think of angels and therefore I was thinking gold, soft, delicate. Let me show you what I did.
I knew I had to use this Essence gold. (I’ll tell you more about it later in the post). I started with 2 coats of Essence – New York City call on all my nails. Once that was completely dry I stamped using the feathers and Essence stampy polish in white. I then topcoated the stamping and added my INM northern lights (gold version) over the stamping to give it the subtle sparkle. I didn’t topcoat my index and pinky to keep the satin finish of the polish.
This image stamped beautifully and the images all came out perfectly. The plate is deeply etched so getting the images crisp is a breeze. Those feathers came out so beautifully, even the delicate pieces. I really impressed and happy with this plate. It’s fantastic!
If you want to grab this plate for yourself (or any of the others) don’t forget you can use my 10% off code as shown below. This code will always be in my sidebar as well as my affiliate link so click on “go buy” and save!
What do you think? Do you like the plate? Have you got this plate? What do you think of my combination? Of course, I have a swatch for you.
Essence – New York City call
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. I don’t even have the words to tell you how much I love this. This is a white gold polish which is my favourite shade of gold. I prefer this much more over a yellow gold, even though they do have their place. This also has a satin finish which I loooove. I realise if you topcoat it it loses the satin finish but even on the two nails I didn’t topcoat I didn’t have any tipwear in the 2 days I wore it. That being said, I am a big topcoat advocate and will not easily go without a topcoat. So, I think it is time we start getting these finishes in topcoat versions as well. We already get the matte, we now need the satin too. Anyway, this polish is fantastic. Great formula, great opacity. I love it! As usual, is you would like to see this compared or paired with anything just give me a shout. I am already wondering how similar this is to OPI – Love.Angel.Music.Baby.
What do you think? Let me know your thoughts on the polish, the plate and what I did with it.
Thanks for reading,
Lizna
