Hi lovelies,
Can you believe this is post #60? Good grief, that is a lot of polishes tested for their stamping ability. I hope you have found some of these useful and that you’ve used some of these to find good combinations for your stamping!
If you have read any of these before I suggest you skip everything and just go straight to the photo’s. If you’re new to the blog or haven’t seen these yet then I suggest you go take a look at Tuesday Stamping #1. I explain most of it there but will I also give a brief run down in this post. So if you’ve read it, scroll over the first bit of text 😉
Basically, this is how I am going to do it. I am going to be stamping over black and white. White will be the lightest colour you ever wear and black the darkest. What better way to see how a polish works over dark and light colours. Now, obviously, not many will actually want to stamp OVER black but it will be a good way to find out if a polish will show up over dark colours. If it shows up on black you can be pretty certain it will show up over everything. That does mean that if it is noticeable but not very, it will probably work much better over say a purple or a blue. I will try to address this with each polish I show you as well.
I will also be using the same plate for all the stamping to make sure there will be continuity. I chose a stamp that had some images with thin lines, with bigger spaces, with some detail etc. That way you can see if a polish will stamp crisp lines when they are thin or if it will smudge when the image has bigger spaces. I decided to go with Pueen11. I will be using the 4 full nail images on this plate.
I will show you 4 of my ordinary polishes with every post. If you want to see more or less per post please let me know. I will use 4 random polishes each time until I have worked through all the polishes I have (excluding glitters of course) and I will show you everything, whether it stamped well or not. I will also be showing you my first attempts at all of them. Sometimes it happens that you move the stamper a little bit when you stamp onto the nail. Or you waited just a second too long and the whole image doesn’t transfer. Or you press too hard and get the shadow stamping. Usually if this happens I would remove it and stamp again. It also happens that a polish looks so promising and after you’ve stamped you think, ah this could look better if I tried it once or twice more. I will not be doing any of that. What I stamp first try is what you get. I just feel that you can get a better result if you keep trying but the mark of a good stamping polish is how well it works straight off the bat.

With all the #DTOwedding stuff last week there were a lot of polishes that were options to match the colour scheme. I considered stamping with a lot of them but I wasn’t sure so I thought I would test some out now.
Essence – Be berry now
I wasn’t too surprised that this one stamped. It did a pretty good job of it too even though I smudged my ring finger a little. It showed up beautifully on the white. I didn’t expect much on the black but was surprised that it was visible, even if only subtly. Definitely one to try if you were looking for this colour to stamp with.
Sinful Colors – Dream on
Even though the colour looks fabulous on the white it didn’t do a great job at stamping. It shows up on the white but the images are not clear. They’re very smudgy and patchy. Which is a pity because the colour is gorgeous. **This is one of the first Sinful Colors polishes I ever bought (as you can see by how much polish is left) so this is the ‘original’ dream on. I believe they have changed the colour of this slightly and I don’t know if that one stamps any better.
Nubar – Dolcetto
Firstly, I must apologise for the mess I made on my ring finger. I am starting to see a pattern though and need to work on that. I smudged the heck out of it. The good news it was totally me, the bad news, this isn’t the best stamping polish. It shows it up well on the white and not as well on the black. It does ok with the thinner / smaller images like on my middle finger but bigger spaces like on my ring is a bit patchy. It is worth a try if you were looking for this colour to stamp with but if you have any of the other polishes from this post I would recommend you try those first.
Sinful Colors – Truth or dare
Better no? Once again a little surprised by how it looks on the black, even better than Essence – be berry now in my opinion. For such a dark colour to be visible on black is quite awesome. So it looks good on the black and great on the white AND it stamps pretty well. If I am not smudging my ring finger I am letting the topcoat drag the stamping. I am totally winning at this post today. Anyway, this one stamped really really well.
Truth or dare is definitely my winner for today although Be berry now didn’t do too badly either. Which one is your favourite? What do you think? Do you want to see any of them stamped over a specific colour? Do you have an idea for a stamped design you would like me to do? Do you have any suggestions for changes or additions you would prefer on these posts? I would love to hear from you. Or if you want to choose the next 4 polishes let me know.
Thanks for reading,
Juanita

Very late reply, but still… thanks for all the stamping tests!
I think I’ve said it before, but I really like being able to just look up a polish and see how it stamps before ruining a base that took more time than I care to admit 😉

What was that you said about late reply? 😛 Sorry about mine haha. Thank you so much!! I must admit I make use of it very often as well so if I know even one other person gets use out of it I am super happy. And yes, ruining a base hoping a polish stamps well is the pits!
