PPSANailChallenge week 4 – Your favourite villain

Hi lovelies,

Phew we made it to Friday!  It has been a really busy and full week so I am thrilled that it is weekend.  I am glad that The Hubband is also back home and doing so much better.

This is the end of week 4 of the #PPSANailChallenge and that means there is just one more week left.  Oh my goodness.  How did it go so quickly?  Here are the prompts so you can see which are still coming.

As you can see, todays prompt is ‘Your favourite villain’.  This is the prompt I was most nervous about and really really didn’t want to do.  Mostly because I simply couldn’t choose which villain to go with.  I very quickly realised that my favourite villain was actually the person who CHOSE this prompt! Yup, you guessed it, it was Thea!!! So my dear bokkie, you are my favourite villain right now.  You stumped me, you stumped me hard!

I remember during the #31DC2014 she did amazing Harley Quinn nails that I absolutely loved and really wanted to recreate so I thought this was the perfect opportunity.  Even though Harley Quinn would be considered a villain too, my villain is actually Madness Nails (grrrr shakes fist :P)  I ended up doing these at like 11pm last night and they’re actually a bit of a fail but time crunch is time crunch so let’s get to it shall we?

Can you see why they’re a bit of a fail?  I started with 2 coats of Color Club – Regatta red and left that to dry completely.  Once it was dry I went to work with tape and Nubar – Noir.  On my index and pinky I taped halfway vertically and applied Nubar – Noir to one half.  On my middle and ring I used tape and Nubar – Noir to tape off the little squares and make them black.  This is where I duffed up my ring finger.  I didn’t line up the polish well and it overlapped a bit. I then used Nubar – Noir and Color Club – Regatta red to make the little diamond shapes on my pinky and index with the opposing colour. I should’ve left well enough alone at this stage but nope.  I then added Sally Hansen – Fiesta to the sections on my pinky and index that doesn’t have the diamonds shapes.  Fiesta is a red, white and black glitter in a clear base.  I am a little annoyed that I got some bubbles with this but it was because of my application.  Anyway, I added topcoat and called it a day.

I really do love Color Club – Regatta red, so let me show you.

Color Club – Regatta red

This is 2 coats with no topcoat. Beautifully opaque and creamy red creme.  This red almost has a pink undertone.  It’s really beautiful.
