Hi lovelies,
Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? I hope so. It is still fairly busy this side but getting better every day. I also broke a nail *sob* Unfortunately I am just not ahead enough to keep posting while it grows out. I do have some posts lined up but specifically Tuesday Stamping posts, you will be seeing some 3 nail swatches and stamping and when the nail art posts run out, you will see weird stuff there too. There is NO way I am cutting all my nails as short as the broken nail one. Sorry 😀
Anyway, onto the #PPSANailChallenge. I can’t believe it is the last week! I really enjoyed it and seeing what everyone came up with. I have it on good authority that we will definitely be doing these challenges again so keep a look out. Is anyone doing #31DC2015 this year? Here are the prompts for the whole challenge and the one that is left. Don’t forget you can still do this challenge at any time. Just change the dates.
So today is dark and vampy. This can be both easy and difficult. I knew immediately which polish I wanted to use so I am going to show you that first.
OPI – Black cherry chutney
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It is a beautiful dark vampy burgundy colour with a golden shimmer. Some of this golden shimmer even looks a bit red thanks to the base colour. Beautiful formula and opacity. It is almost a one coater but to get the real depth from the shimmer you will definitely need 2. When I took these photo’s it never occurred to me to try and get the shimmer as best I could so I am not showing it off to it’s true potential here. Trust me when I say though, this is gorgeous! (For some really stunning photos of the shimmer have a look here). Do you see now why I knew I had to use this one for this prompt?
I had a lot of input from acidicice for this one (thank you) so let me show you what I did.
I started with 2 coats of Tip Top – Volcanic eruption on my ring finger and 2 coats of OPI – Black cherry chutney on the rest of my nails. Once it was all completely dry I stamped on my ring finger using BM-H08 and MoYou stamping polish in black. I adore these freaky little eyes and I thought it would give another spin on the ‘dark & vampy’ prompt. On the rest of my nails I stamped using BM416 and Tip Top – Volcanic eruption. I had hoped it would look a little more like blood splatter but I liked it anyway. I topcoated everything and that was that.
I do think it is dark & vampy. What do you think? Don’t forget to check out all the other interpretations using the InLinkz thingum below.

Hmmm… I wanted to use Black Berry Chutney but no way I’m going to be able to pull it off as great as you did with this gorgeous manicure 🙂
Back to the drawing board for my dark and vampy nails… *scratches out black-to-red gradient as well*

Hahahahaha that is funny and SO sweet! What are the chances that we both had the same idea! I love it!
