piCture pOlish – Unicorn

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a beautiful weekend!  It’s a new week in a new month so it has to be great right?

A little while ago Shann from We Heart Nail Art asked me to choose a polish to review and when it arrived she had included an extra polish.  The most perfect polish she could ever have chosen.  She sent me piCture pOlish – Unicorn. I squealed.

piCture pOlish is an indie – or independent nail polish maker – from Australia.  Now if you are in South Africa you know that access to indie polishes is super limited.  If you do have access to them there are a lot of fees and waiting involved.  Shann has made this process much easier for us and is the ONLY South African distributor for piCture pOlish.  Indie polishes are usually super unique and of high quality.  They are also usually slightly more expensive than main stream brands for those reasons.  We Heart Nail Art has kept the prices really on point for not only an Indie polish but and Indie polish from Australia.  If you consider the custom fees and shipping – not to mention the wait time – this is actually a bargain.

piCture pOlish has been on my covet list for the longest time.  I have yet to see one of their polishes that I don’t love.  Not only are they absolutely gorgeous but they are also 5 free, free of artificial flavours and fragrances.  I actually love the smell of these polishes.  They are also cruelty free AND vegan.  Does it get better than this?  Yes, yes it does.  Let me show you Unicorn.

 

This is 2 coats with topcoat only on my index.  The others have no topcoat.  The formula on this is amazing. It applies perfectly with no patches or streakiness.  It dries really fast too.  The glitter coverage is amazing.  This is a green / teal scattered holo with pink and silver glitter.  This was a collaboration shade with Brit Nails and not only is the polish perfect it is also perfectly named.  Seriously, I can’t get enough of this stunning polish.  You can find this polish at We Heart Nail Art for R180.  I wanted to do some nail art with it but not too much.  Let me show you what I did.

I started with the 2 coats of piCture pOlish – Unicorn and then stamped using pueen32 and Mundo de Unas – Tutti.  This was really simple but I wanted to bring out a bit of the pink glitter and I thought the colours went really well together.  The stamping also still shows off Unicorn.
