Essence – Valentine – Who cares? collection

Happy Monday!  Did you have a fabulous weekend? Mine was really productive and if all goes well, there will be something new coming today!  I am excited and terrified at the same time.  But enough of my rambling, I have something new to show you today.

I knew that the new Essence trend collection was due to come out soon but I happened to stroll into Dischem and I was thrilled to see the new collection on the shelves already.  This is a valentine collection but I think more of an ‘anti valentine’ collection and I love it.  Let me show you

Essence – Crew love is true love

This is 2 coats with no topcoat.  It has a ‘latex’ finish.  Essence already has a latex red in their existing line but it is a slightly different tone of red.  Maybe a bit darker.  I haven’t done a comparison but shout if you want to see one.  The formula on this one was really good and the opacity was good too.  I like it.

Essence – L.O.V.E Blah blah blah

This is 2 coats with no topcoat.  It also has the ‘latex’ finish and it’s quite a unique colour too.  I first thought it was a dark grey but it is quite green so I would go with a khaki colour.  Great formula and opacity.  Definitely a strange but lovely colour.  I suspect if you had to topcoat this one it might even have a very very subtle shimmer to it.

Essence – Love is in the air – Don’t breathe

This is 2 coats with no topcoat.  It is a ‘metallic’ finish.  It dries a bit matte and I have left it as is here.  It is a gold colour and with topcoat it is just stunning.  The formula and opacity is fabulous and I just love this colour too.  I thought this was going to be my favourite but it ended up in a solid second place

Essence – Talk to the hand

This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is also a ‘metallic’ finish but it dries a bit matte as well.  It is packed with a beautiful shimmer.  Once it is topcoated it is even more breathtaking.  Fabulous formula and opacity.  This is definitely my favourite.
