Hello lovelies,
Happy Friday! Gosh this has been a busy week. How has yours been? There are still a few things to do in the house to finish it off after all the work so I will be spending the weekend doing a bit of that. After Parkrun of course. I also have a bit of sewing to do and a ton of nail art I want to try. What are your plans for the weekend? Tell me it’s something fun!
There is a new Essence trend edition out called “All that Greys”. It is a 20’s themed collection according to the collection info but I have to tell you, it definitely reminds me about a certain book / movie that is similar in name. Let me show you the polishes and then tell me what you think 😉
Essence – Back to black
This is 2 easy coats with no topcoat. You can see by the label on the lid that it dries to a matte finish. The formula on this one is great and I really love the matte finish. It has such a beautiful shimmer in it that I think it will look just as amazing with a topcoat. This very much reminds me of OPI – 4 in the morning and China Glaze – Stone cold. I am a fan of this one!
Essence – Girl with a pearl
I was very worried about this one before I used it but my fears were for nothing. This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It has a shiny finish and a beautiful formula. The pigmentation is fabulous. From the first coat it was smooth and creamy. I love this creamy super light grey colour. It borders on white and makes a perfect base for nail art. Another favourite for me.
Essence – Greyt times
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. Another glossy finish with a fabulous formula. I really love grey polishes and have quite a few but this is definitely a favourite shade of grey. It’s still light enough for a perfect base for nail art but also goes so well with other colours. Another favourite.
Essence – Roaring red
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is another matte finish. I so badly wanted to like this one but I ended up just feeling eh. It’s a bit more brown toned than I would’ve liked. The formula was a bit tricky. It’s almost like it dried too quickly so it became lumpy and streaky. It’s very opaque but it’s tricky to apply. I don’t know if it is just me and my application so I will give it another shot. I must say, it’s pretty and I like that it is matte but just look at that beautiful shimmer in the bottle. I think this will look beautiful with topcoat to really make the shimmer pop. I just really want it to be more red. This is not my favourite shade of red but I do know it is a very popular colour.
Essence – Step into the grey zone
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. The glossy finish is super glossy here. The formula is really good and the colour is so pretty too. It’s another quite opaque one. So very pretty!
I just love all the shades of grey and I just want to do grey gradients all over the place. Beautiful shades, (mostly) beautiful formulas and really opaque polishes. I am definitely a fan of this collection. The fact that it is shades of grey with one red might be what makes me think if that popular book / movie. What do you think? What do you think of this collection? Have you see it in store?
These polishes are currently available at Clicks stores but I know they are flying out of stores. Hang tight though because I know they will also be available in Dischem within the next month. keep a close eye on both stores if you are looking for these but haven’t been able to find them. This collection also came with beautiful nail art stickers of lace and pearls. It also has a beautiful eyeshadow palette that I am definitely grabbing when I spot it again. This is a beautiful collection. I’d love to know what you think and what you have grabbed if anything.
Thanks for reading,
Megan
oh my word I love these!

I definitely thought about you when I saw them. I love the colours and so many choices for grey! Who knew?!
