Hello lovelies,
It’s my favourite day again! Yay for Friday. This has been a really rough week for me. I have been so sick which means I haven’t really been able to do much of what needed to be done. So today I can’t hold off anymore and I have to get stuff ticked off my to-do list. I am feeling super motivated. Let’s just hope it stays that way 😛 I am doing the Totalsports Women’s race this weekend and I am trying really really hard to get better in time for it. I don’t want to miss it! What are your plans for the weekend? Doing anything fun?
Today I have the China Glaze – Lite Brites collection to show you. It is the summer 2016 collection and filled with bright and beautiful colours. I don’t know about you but I have been lusting after this collection since the minute I saw it.
Before I even show you the polishes let me get one thing out of the way. They all have really great formulas. Some better than others but in general they were all great! They are also all mostly very opaque. I will touch lightly on each one as I show you though. Make you sure you read to the end though…..you never know.
I’ll pink to that
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a beautiful bright barbie pink creme with a fantastic formula and beautifully shiny finish. I barely needed a second coat. It’s hard for me to choose a favourite out of the while collection but this one comes close.
Hot Flash
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a bright red creme with a stunning formula and opacity. I love the squishy, shiny finish on this one too. I never really grab for red polish first but I am really loving the reds lately too. This one also barely needed a second coat. Goodness…..red lovers beware.
I got a blue attitude
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It’s a violet blue piece of perfection. I have never seen a more perfect blurple. Formula on this is amazing. Almost a one coater. I am extremely drawn to this colour not to mention the gorgeous finish. I can spot a very subtle shimmer in the bottle but it’s hardly noticeable at all. I am inclined to say it’s a creme.
Lime after lime
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It’s a pastel neon lime green creme and does dry to a slight matte finish. The first coat had me a little concerned as I thought it would be streaky and patchy but the second coat was pure perfection. I think it is a bit on the thin side so the first coat isn’t as opaque unless you use really thick coats. I wouldn’t though, the second coat was a breeze and made it beautiful. You definitely won’t need more than two. I kinda luuuuurve it.
None of your risky business
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It is a ‘pastel’ neon orange creme. It is surprisingly pretty but for such a different colour. It has a similar formula to Lime after lime. The first coat is thin and tends to look a bit streaky but the second coat is beautiful. It isn’t troublesome at all.
Whip it good
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It is a pastel yellow creme. I almost want to say it has a hint of green in it. As with the two above, this had a similar formula. I actually swatched this one before the other two and thought it was typical ‘yellow polish formula’. Like I said, it isn’t troublesome at all. The second coat makes it perfect. I must say the name of this had me giggling a bit. I juggle between thinking of scrambled eggs and the “whip my hair back and forth” stuff.
Bite me
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It is a orange toned pink / coral with a beautiful gold shimmer. It’s subtle (compared to some others still coming up) but definitely visible. Beautifully so in fact. Stunning formula and opacity which it makes it almost a one coater. I really loved this. I don’t really wear gold shimmer well (off hand I recall 2 pinks with gold shimmers I have had before and will never wear again because it just looked wrong) but this one is just lovely. I love it.
Let’s jam
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It is a beautiful, soft – yet bright and fun – lilac with the most beautiful purple and blue shimmer. Beautiful formula and opacity. The shimmer is quite subtle but definitely visible and adds so much depth. I am absolutely in love. I can see this paired beautifully in nail art or even worn on it’s own or with subtle art. I so badly want to pair this with Lime after lime and then I want to do subtle delicate metallic purple stamping.
Lip smackin’ good
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It’s a subtle muted but bright pink. It has a beautiful shimmer in the bottle but it is barely visible on the nail. This makes me sad because it has a beautiful pink shimmer but once it dries it is gone. The formula and opacity is fabulous. I really loved the colour even though I am sad about the lost shimmer. It’s gorgeous.
What I like about blue
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. All I want to say is SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! It is a light blue turquoise with the most mind blowing shimmer. I said earlier it was hard for me to choose a favourite out of this collection but I can guarantee that if I was forced to choose, this would be it. No photo can do this polish justice. Stunning formula and opacity. Almost a one coater. Just take all my money and give me all the bottles.
Papa don’t peach
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is an orange (maybe a hint of coral) jelly packed with gold shimmery goodness. It has a slightly thicker consistency but still applies easily and well. Great formula and opacity. My only disappointment is that it isn’t more of a peach colour. It’s unique and different to my collection and it is definitely fun polish.
We got the beet
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. First thing I have to say. I struggled my butt off to photograph this one. The shimmery shine gave my camera all it’s days. The change in colour on the tips was not there in real life. I can only imagine the light box lights had it’s fun with that. This is a purple jelly packed with glass flecks. The same as Papa don’t peach in formula. It is slightly thicker in consistency but applies beautifully. Ok, I am going to have to say it again. Hard to choose a favourite but dammit this one is right up there. It’s absolutely stunning.
Ok, now I have to know. Which one is your favourite? Do you have any of them? Which one/s would you choose? I bought mine online but I know these are now available in SA (I know Nail Candi has them in stock now). I do not regret buying any of these and I am so glad I chose them all. I know that some of them remind me of other polishes. I think they are all fairly unique but if you do want to see a comparison please let me know. You know I love those. 😉
I did ask you to make you read to end and here is why. I love my readers and I love giving a little bit back. So I thought we could have some fun. Shall we?

Also, Whit It Good now has me humming Push It from Salt-n-Pepa like a crazy person and doing the movement at my desk at work! Thanks Schmemms!
