I have been dying to do animal print on my nails for a while now but it always looked so daunting. So one night I decided to give it my best shot.
I couldn’t decide between leopard and zebra so I thought I would do both and see how it came out. Of course, I won’t do that again, I think one or the other will do. It was actually so much easier than I thought it would be. The zebra print got me a bit and it doesn’t look near as good as I had hoped but it as a start. The leopard print could probably also do with some improvement but I am so proud of how they came out.
Not only is it my favourite colour (pink) but I think a pretty good first attempt. I will definitely be doing these again. In fact I already have one more lined up to show you some time soon.
The colours I used were Tip Top – Sexy Bikini (bright pink) and Tip Top Melting Marshmallow (light pink) and then I used black for the lines and the spots. I can imagine these in all kinds of bright colours. In fact I spent days looking for a neon yellow that I wanted to do this in but I couldn’t find a true neon yellow anywhere. I also recently realised that I have a leopard print stamp plate. Looking at the plate it looks completely different so I would be interested to see how it compares to my freehand version. I will do that and share those results as well.
Hope I see some of you with animal print nails soon!
