I’ve said it so many times before and this will definitely not be the last time you hear me say it. Sinful Colors is definitely one of my top 3 brands.
Here in SA they currently have the Cast Away trend on our shelves. Unfortunately we are behind here as well. This of course does not take away from how beautiful these colours are and how fabulous this polish is. I have a few bottles of the Cast Away trend and thought I would share them here.
Athens:
Athens is a teal-green colour. This is 1 coat base coat and 2 coats of Athens. No top coat. I think you could probably get away with one thick coat because it is so opaque but I stuck to my usual two coats. I absolutely love this darker green / blue colour but be warned. It stained like a bugger. It didn’t stain my nails but when I was taking it off it stained all the skin around my nails. I tried rubbing it off differently and it helped. So be warned, try not to rub the polish towards your skin when taking it off. The staining I did have I took off with a bit more polish remover and a scrubbing session with my nail brush. This colour is so pretty that it is still worth it.
Greek Isles
Greek isles is a gorgeous turquoise, aqua colour. This is one coat base coat and 2 coats Greek Isles and a dream to apply. No top coat. I had absolutely no issue with this at all. I really like this colour because it is so unique. It is almost a lighter, slightly more aqua shade of Athens. Also completely opaque in two coats.
Neptune:
Neptune is a beautiful deep blue with silver, metallicy (yes, that’s a word) flecks in it. Again, one coat of base coat and 2 coats of Neptune. This blue is gorgeous but pretty hard to get a good photo with. Those little flecks really show up in the sun or in light and turns this blue into something else. It’s beautiful. This was also tricky on removal. The little flecks are prone to go everywhere (almost like a glitter would) but I rubbed away from my skin and had a good hand wash after removal and it was fine.
Olympia:
Oympia is gorgeous sea foam green colour. This is one coat base coat with 2 coats Olympia. No top coat except for my ring finger where I used Tip Top Matt-nificent. It just screamed to be shown off in matte and I think it looks beautiful. This is also one of my favourite colours. Olympia is also totally opaque, probably even in one coat but it definitely needs two coats to even it out a bit. I think this colour is gorgeous for summer/spring even if not the traditional pastel shades. LOVE!
Pandora:
Pandora was the surprise for me. This is also the hardest to capture the true colour on a photo. I think I got as close as I could but for me it is much more ‘nude’ than it appears in the photo. In the bottle it looked much more orange, peach in colour but once I had it on my nails I actually really liked it. I have walked past this bottle so many times and every time it caught my eye. Eventually I picked it up and was totally surprised. One coat of base coat and 2 coats of Pandora here. Like I said it seemed much more nude on my nails. I am not sure if ‘nude’ is the right word here. On the picture there is quite a big contrast between my nail colour and skin tone where in reality it wasn’t so much. I can actually see this as a base for tons of nail art. When I had this on I wore it for a few days with nothing else and no nail art. I don’t know what it is about this colour. I would never usually choose it. Completely opaque in two coats and again, a dream to apply.
I really love Sinful Colors in general and they definitely didn’t disappoint with this collection. There are a few more shades in this collection which I don’t have. They are: Be happy, Grecian Sun and Zeus. Their formula is always great and in my opinion a top notch brand. What do you think of these shades? Also, do you have changes you would like to see here? Like, are the photo’s ok (remember, I am not a photographer by any stretch of the imagination), any information about the polishes that I am not including that you would like to know etc. Let me know and I will take notes.
Sinful Colors is available at selected Clicks stores for R27.99
Bronwyn
Wow, I didn’t like the Olympia in the bottle but it looks really nice on! And I love the Greek Isles too. Pity I already have that shade of blue, but I think I might have a look for the Olympia one next time I’m shopping.

I must admit there were a few of these that I didn’t think I would like based on the bottle. Pandora is the other one. I love Olympia though. It’s beautiful.
The Greek Isles photo I think makes it look a bit more blue than it actually is. it’s more greenish in my opinion.
Mamazombie
i think my favourites are the Neptune and Olympia

I have never used anything Sinful Colors, but now I have ordered a few, after seeing them in a couple of manis. Their colours are so original, at least some of them, I just hope the formula will be good 🙂 Do you sometimes stamp with them? I bought them as base polishes, but it’s always nice to stumble upon a stamping polish 😛

I love Sinful Colors. They are definitely one of my favourites and super affordable. Yes I have used a few for stamping. I am going to start a stamping feature soon where I go through all the polishes I have and show how they stamp (good or bad).
