Happy Birthday Mom!
It’s been many years since I’ve been able to celebrate my mom’s birthday with her. In fact, 10 years ago was the last time. I can’t help but wonder what we would’ve done different if we had known that was the last time. Unfortunately we don’t have that luxury and no wondering or wishing will change anything.
Instead, I will have a quiet celebration at home. I will spend some time thinking of the beautiful woman she was and the best mother anyone could ask for. I will reflect on everything she taught me and be thankful for everything she gave me.
I love you mom, more than yesterday. I miss you more than words can say. I hope you are celebrating this special day as well, surrounded by loved ones.
Today is also the anniversary of the day Willie asked me to marry him. Isn’t that special? Today, 7 years ago, on the way home from the airport he asked me to marry him.
Today I am filled with love. More than sadness, more than anger. Love….
Sharon
