Lilac compared

Ever since my first post about Tip Top Nail Polishes I had so many people mention how much they loved Fairy Dust.  It also seemed quite hard for folks to get their hands on.  Never fear folks.  I have a solution!  😉

When I opened my Essence – Hello Marshmallow I thought it was pretty similar to Tip Top Fairy Dust.  I knew I had to do a comparison.

 

Here I have Essence – Hello Marshmallow on my pinky and middle finger and Tip Top – Fairy Dust on my ring and pointer finger.  Can you tell the difference?

 

There might not look like there is much of a difference and there really isn’t but the difference is subtle.  Hello Marshmallow has a super subtle shimmer that Fairy Dust doesn’t have.  You can see this shimmer in the fist photo near the lid, just above the Essence logo. It is so subtle that you can’t even notice it on the photos.  Fairy Dust is a straight up creme.

I definitely don’t think you need both.  If you were one of those that loved Fairy Dust and couldn’t find it then I would absolutely consider Hello Marshmallow.  As to which one is better?  That’s near impossible to answer for me.  I think the Fairy Dust is a smidge smoother and the formula is great. It’s Tip Top.  Hello Marshmallow is really nice to work with and evens out well and I don’t regret buying it at all.
