Bright (sunshine) nails

This is another one I had worked on for the challenge that I am not doing anymore.  I wanted something bright and fun to contrast the gloomy, wintery weather we are having recently.  I really do love the colder weather but I do love the summer polish shades and trends.

I started off with two coats of Essence – Redvolution over basecoat.

At first I wasn’t sure if I liked this colour.  I wore this for a day and a half on it’s own because I just wasn’t sure.  It is a bright orange toned red.  After a few hours though I really started to like it.  By the following day I liked it a lot.  I decided to go ahead with my original idea.

I bought this Sinful Colors polish for Ackermans which means it doesn’t come with a name.  Lucky me.  As far as I can tell it is Sinful Colors – Summer Peach. It is a really bright orange.  Really bright.  This is Summer Peach on it’s own:

I took a makeup sponge and sponged the Sinful Colors – Summer Peach onto the tips over Essence – Redvolution.

In the photos it doesn’t look nearly as bright as it did in real life.  This was super bright and summery. I can see on the photos that it doesn’t look as neatly blended as it did in real life either.  I really liked the look of this though.  I also got quite a few compliments while I was out shopping.

I topped it off with the new Tip Top topcoat I received from them recently.  I am really impressed with this topcoat (and the basecoat).  It actually dries quite fast, especially as it isn’t a fast drying topcoat.  It also leaves my nails super shiny like glass.  I will do a post about these some other time but so far I am really impressed.

What do you think of the colour combination?  Do you also think it looks quite summery?  I am by no means rushing summer to come back in a hurry but I do love the bright colours every now and then.
