Mothers day flowers

Hi lovelies,

Happy voting day!  I hope you’re all making your mark today.

I know mothers day is coming up this weekend.  It is not my favourite day by far.  It is just a slap in the face reminder of what I don’t have.  I don’t have my mother to spoil or hug or tell how much I love her.  I don’t have a child to love  (which is my biggest desire).  So basically the day just stinks for me.  That being said, I am surrounded by amazing mothers so to every single mother out there.  Happy mothers day.  I hope you feel how every loved you are.  Ok, enough whining from me.  😉

I am posting these today because I will probably not have the courage or inclination to do it on actual Mothers day.

My moms favourite colour was yellow and she loved carnations.  I don’t exactly excel in freehand but acidicice suggested I do the ‘one stroke’ technique with a brush.  I don’t know if this qualifies but I used a brush 😛  I started off with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on my index and middle and 1 coat of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on all the rest.  I then used Tip Top – Sun kissed and Tip Tip – Flamenco pink to do the sponged gradient.  I used the same colours and my brush to do the abstract -ish flowers.  It’s actually quite funny.  My mom hated pink until I was born and was a girl and then she became a little obsessed with pink.  Growing up, I hated pink because everything was pink, I swear even my walls were pink at one point.  And all of a sudden, I am obsessed with pink.  Crazy obsessed.  It kinda feels like it has come full circle.  Anyway, topcoat and I’m done.
