Happy Youth day. Considering it is a public holiday here in SA and I am barely out of pi’s I thought I would drag out this post that has been sitting in the drafts folder for forever. I hope you’re having as great a long weekend as I am. 😉
You might have noticed that I didn’t title this post as ‘Comparison’. That is because this isn’t really a comparison. For the longest time I owned Sinful Colors – Ciel but it didn’t have a name on it so I wasn’t sure what it actually was. I tried to do some research and the closest I could get was Sinful Colors – Cool gray. I wasn’t entirely sure and every time I used it I mentioned that I wasn’t sure and if anyone could confirm it would be great but no one ever did so on I went. Then in December I spotted Cool gray and Ciel in store (with names this time) and I knew immediately that I was wrong all along. So this is mostly a post to clarify and show how different they really are. I must say, I really love them both too.
Sinful Colors – Cool Gray
A beautiful light grey creme. This is 2 coats with no topcoat and a stunning formula.
Sinful Colors – Ciel
I’ve seen this described as a light blue but I must admit, ** I don’t see it. This is almost like a greyed white or super light grey. It’s lovely though and applies like a dream. This is 2 coats with no topcoat.
I’m sure it is pretty obvious that they are quite different but let’s see them together anyway
I am now not sure how I could’ve thought Ciel was Cool gray, even for a moment, but at the time I couldn’t find anything closer to Ciel. I am just really happy to have both now. I will try to go back and change the posts where I referred to Ciel as Cool gray but I haven’t yet and it won’t be this week either.
What do you think of these two? I really like them and how versatile they are.

Your nails are great, your nail polish is great, and your photos are great! very professional! How do you do it?! I like cool grey; it brings out your skin tone. I never would have thought I’d like grey nail polish!

I don’t see any blue in Ciel? Are we colour blind???? Lmao! But both are majorly different. I see no similarity except that they’re of the same family and agree with your description of Ciel. I always think of it as pastel grey lmao
YES!!!!!! I dunno. I guess if you put it with blues it might look like a very pale blue but otherwise, nope. Thanks V!
