Hi lovelies,
How has the week been treating you? My week has been ok. Nothing bad, nothing good. Which in itself is good I guess right?
The other day I had naked nails while catching up on some admin and at the same time browsing Pinterest for some inspiration when I suddenly remembered I had an appointment. I didn’t have much time to do anything time consuming on my nails but I also didn’t want to go with naked nails. When I need to do something quick I always reach for a texture polish and I had just enough time to add a little something extra. It is really simple but I really loved it. Let me show you,
I started with 2 coats of L.A Girl – Sandstorm on my pinky, index and thumb and 2 coats of L.A Girl Sandals on my ring and middle. Sandstorm is just such a gorgeous nude texture. I find myself reaching for it so often because it is not only gorgeous but goes with everything. I love it. Sandals is a coral pinky texture. Thanks to the dreaded ‘my camera hates pink’ curse it might seem a little more orange than it is. It is slightly more pinkish BUT it’s not that far off. I thought it was much more pink when I bought it but when I compared it to other pinks and some coral shades it definitely leans more coral for me. Anyway, Once that was all dry, I taped off the tips on my ring and middle at an angle and added one coat of Sandstorm and immediately pulled off the tape. I then used a dotting tool to make a row of dots along the line using Sandstorm.
This is really easy to do and thanks to the texture it has some added appeal. I was surprised by how much I liked this. This is a nice colour scheme if you work in a corporate environment and can’t have bright and funky colours on your nails. The nude really softens the coral. What do you think? Is this something you would do? Do you like the colours?
Thanks for reading,

I’m not a fan of coral (in any form), but I really like this combo. Very pretty 🙂

I had the same idea last night in that I didn’t like the nails I did on Monday, but I also didn’t really feel like re-doing them again, so I pulled out a texture and called it good enough, lol.
I like the idea of combining textured polishes. I usually don’t play around with them much because I usually do just use them for in a pinch manis, but I bet some really stunning results could happen!

You really should. I think you are right, some stunning results can come of it. I love texture polishes for that very reason. A great look from a single polish. I also realised when I did my swatch sticks that I have a LOT of textures 😛
Thanks Lesley
