Hi lovelies,
It’s Friday already. This week has just flown by. We have another busy weekend ahead of us. I hope you have a fun weekend planned?
It has been ages since I showed you the polishes but one of the requests for comparison was between Navy gator and In the navy. I mentioned in the post that I wasn’t sure how similar they would be but I must be honest, I couldn’t decide if I was more nervous that they would be dupes or that they would not be. Let’s have a look
I think the best way to see here is by looking at the index and middle nails together. They are definitely not dupes. Navy gator has an almost grey tone to it where In the navy is a pure, crisp navy. The difference isn’t huge and some might feel you don’t need both. To be honest, I don’t know if you need both. They are definitely different enough to see it but I am not sure if they are different enough that you would need both. I am certainly glad to have both.
I used 2 coats of each here with no topcoat. Both have a great formula and opacity with Navy gator being only ever so slightly more opaque.
What do you think? Different enough to need both? I must say, in some lights (indoor especially) the difference was super noticeable. Outside it was less so but still different. Do you have either of these? Both of these?
Thanks for reading,
Juanita
Glad I have both.

Good idea! They’re both super pretty.

I like In The Navy more because the shine adds a little more interest to the shade. still find the navy a bit dull overall though.

They’re both very shiny but the grey tone of Navy Gator makes it seem a little ‘matte’. Navy is a bit dull but it is great in the colder months. Especially combined with silver or ox blood. 😉
