One of the fun things about nail art is looking back on earlier stuff and seeing how far you have come. Well, I think it is. I quite enjoy doing old manis over again and seeing if I can improve on the original. I did a couple of Throwback Thursday posts on my blog. You can read them :
They were so much fun, and today I have another Throwback (um… Monday?) post for you. This mani was such a win for me first time round because it’s my favourite colour combo (black, pink and green) and the nail art technique I love more than any other… DOTS! I am the queen of freaking dotticures, LOL.
Here’s version one of the mani:
I used Tip Top Black, Sexy Bikini and We Have an Agreenmint.
This time round, I used LA Girl 3D Effect – Black Illusion instead of a normal black polish. Words cannot describe the jelly holo black sparkly awesome that is this polish. I also changed the pink to Tip Top Sitting Pretty. The green I kept the same. This time instead of dotting the middle nail, I added a skull and headphones decal from Lucky Star Style
So here is how round two:
I LOVED how this turned out. The skull looks awesome and I love how the dots pop against the sparkly 3D polish. I did smear one of the dots a bit when I topcoated, but I can live with that!
What do you think? Is my second attempt a good improvement or should I have just left the mani as is?
