Hi lovelies,
Happy Friday! I am hoping for an amazing weekend and I hope you have one too! Do you have any plans yet?
Blogger of the Month is yet another of the Nail Anarchy girls and I am just as excited! Let me introduce you…

Please tell us more about yourself and your blog
Hi! I am a married mom of two littles, a perfect pigeon pair. Elijah is 5 and Gabby is 2. My blog started out of curiosity about the blogging world almost 10 years ago and quickly became a chronical of my life. I blogged my wedding planning, problems with my family and when I had kids it morphed into a “mommy blog”. After I discovered my passion for polish, I started blogging my manis too 🙂

How did you get into polish?
Well look at that! The person responsible is also the owner of this blog! Michelle had been following my blog from the very beginning and we had gotten to know each other via social media. I always admired her nail blogs and after the birth of my daughter I had this sudden urge to make my nails pretty. Of course I knew exactly who to ask for advice and help. I was standing on the precipice of a nail polish addiction and Michelle was all too happy to nudge me over the edge. HA HA! I started out using the few polishes I had lying around the house and I bought one or two other polishes. Not too long after that I received EPIC nail mail from Michelle and I was hooked. The rest is history!

What is your own favourite kind of nail art / swatch that you’ve done?
My favourite nail art has got to be the Eye of Sauron mani I did recently got the #PPSANailChallenge. I free handed the eye working from a picture and was over the moon with the result. I really didn’t think I could do it justice before I started, so to have such an awesome outcome made me ecstatic 😀 Honestly though, I really do love a lot of the manis I do, so it is very difficult to choose just one.

What is your favourite kind of nail art / technique?
If I say anything other than stamping Michelle will chop of my hands for lying, so I’ll just have to say STAMPING! I had trouble with it and totally wanted to throw in the towel, but loved all the stamping designs and manis I had seen. So with Michelle’s encouragement I persevered. Finally I discovered my bornprettystore squishy stamper and I have never looked back!
-
What technique gives you grey hairs? Which one can you just not master or is your least favourite?
I’m still trying to get stamping decals down. I’ve made a few attempts, but always manage to screw it up. I will keep trying though!

How do you get your nail time on? (Work at night, early in the morning etc)
I polish twice a week, Wednesdays and Sundays. Wednesday I polish after work while the family eats and the husband baths the kids. On Sundays I try to do it as early as possible as Sunday evenings are reserved for preparations for the following week which is always time consuming. On Sunday mornings I wake up with thoughts of polish and what I will paint later.
- What has been your proudest moment so far?
Any time I am selected to swatch a polish or review items I am super proud and humbled. Nail artists are their own worst critics and that kind of validation just makes all the acetone fumes totally worth it.

Most embarrassing nail moment or nail fail? (feel free to show us)
For me, this is possibly the worst mani I ever did. I still can’t get over how much I didn’t like it. I can’t tell you if it was the “velvet” nails are the badly painted chick…I cringe when I look back at this one.

What polish would you sell your soul for?
I kinda like my soul! For almost 2 years I lusted after China Glaze It’s a Trap-eze, but I finally managed to get my polished paws on it this year. I haven’t fallen in love with an unobtainable polish since then yet, but it is inevitable, so watch this space 🙂
-
What is your favourite snack while doing your nails?
I generally don’t eat when I’m doing my nails. I just know I’ll knock the crap out of them while my polish is still wet, but I do like to have a drink handy. During summer I usually have a glass of Tab on hand and in winter some coffee.
-
Which cartoon character do you relate to most?
I would have to say Eeyore. I love his gloomy bum so much!
-
The only polish colours in front of you are black, electric blue and neon orange. What do you do and what do you use – and why?
When you say neon orange, I immediately think China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy. That with some black would look awesome! I would stamp FFF with black, obvs 😉
-
Compare your favourite tv / movie crush with a polish and why?
Hmmmm. I would have to say I’m currently crushing on Jon Snow, because ABS. Compare him to a polish? It would have to be Sinful Colors Snow Me White. It is my favourite white polish, amazing as a base for nail art and even stamps! So versatile. Jon could snow me white any day 😉

If you could create your own custom polish, what would it be and what would it be named?
I think I would want to create a purple polish with very strong linear holographic effect and just to make it unique some of those multichrome flakies that are all the rage right now. The ones that shift to purple, of course! I would also love to have a polish named after my blog like some other famous blogging peoples *cough*, so I would call it acidicice 😀

Thank you so much acidicice! I really do love reading the answers to these questions. Even though I am starting to see a trend here for question 2! 😛 I can’t wait to see what is in store for the guest post, I have heard it’s going to be a goodie – or two?
Go and have a look at acidicice and give her some love.
Thanks for reading,
acidicice
