Hi lovelies,
Happy Wednesday! I hope you have had as busy and full week as me. It has really made the time fly. I am unsure if this is good or bad yet though 😉 I do however have an awesome guest post for you today from the July Blogger of the Month….
Hi there Michelle’s readers! *waves* I am so excited to be able to be featured on this here blog again. Michelle has been my nail mentor and friend for many years. I am honoured to call her that and that she has carved out a space for me on her blog. When trying to decide what I should do for a guest post, I thought the best thing to do would be to recreate one of her manis. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, is it not? I sat scrolling through her Pinterest boards, trying to decide what to do. Finally it struck me! Why not recreate my absolute favourite mani?! So I did. You can see the original post on her blog by clicking here. While I was busy with the recreation, I realized I didn’t have a stamping plate to copy it exactly, so it became nails inspired by my favourite Misfit design. Here’s what I came up with:
It’s Christmas in July! I started off with a L.A. Girl base coat to protect my nails. I painted 1 coat of Tip Top Melting Marshmallow on all of my nails. I used Melting Mashmallow and China Glaze Dance Baby to sponge a gradient as a base for the art to follow. The gradient is soft, but it is there and I was happy with the way it turned out. Once my nails were dry and my husband had cut me out of the tape I had applied to try and minimize cleanup (TRUE STORY!), I was ready to start stamping. I used Revlon Gel Envy Royal Flush (pink) and essence white stampy polish to double stamp on all of my nails. The Christmas tree is from BP-01, a Christmas themed bornprettystore stamping plate. I did try to stamp the reindeer on this plate as well, but I could not pick them up at all. I tried 3 different stampers and more than one polish with no luck. This is one of the older bornprettystore plates and I managed to pick up another image on the same plate. I used the full nail image on the right hand side of the plate to stamp on my middle and ring nails and also stamped random snowflakes in white from bornprettystore plate QA58. I have been dying to use these snowflake plates. I have longed for snowflake images every Christmas and this was the perfect opportunity to try them out 🙂 Apparently I cannot freehand snowflakes to save my life, so I am really happy that I will never have to do so again! Once I was done stamping I used some top coat and applied 2 star shaped rhinestones to adorn the top of my Christmas trees. I added a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust for some extra sparkle and sealed everything in with a coat of Seche Vite.
I was so very pleased with how these turned out! I wasn’t sure I could do the original mani justice, but I fell in love with these before I was even finished! Michelle, thank you for having me here on your blog and for being a wonderful source of information and inspiration!

I loved Michelle’s pinkmas post when I saw it and I totally love yours too.
Thanks for pointing my direction to that poor neglected first BM collection. I was looking at your nails, thinking: “Where did that tree come from? I would love to use that in December, I wonder if I can buy it…” and I have that plate, probably hidden under a pile of dust 😉
