NAILLinkup: Mirror mirror on the wall

Hello lovelies,

Today is a public holiday and voting day.  I hope you are all doing your bit for our country today.  I must say it is really fun having a public holiday smack bam in the middle of the week.  How has your week been so far?

Well, who came up with THESE prompts?!?!  They’re making me really think hard this month 😛  So, let me show you what I came up with for Mirror mirror on the wall.

This didn’t quite come out the way I had imagined it but I don’t hate it.  Let’s start with my index.  I did a sponged gradient using China Glaze – Daisy know my name?, China Glaze – Glow with the flow and China Glaze – PLUR-ple.  I then left that to dry completely before stamping the face using Pueen70 and Mundo de Unas in black.  On my middle and ring finger I started with 2 coats of OPI – Push and shove and left that to dry while I made the decals.  I used my mani mat and Pueen70 to make decals of the face image.  I then used Essence – Ultimate pink and Essence – Wanna say hello for the hair. I used  Essence – Let’s get lost and Essence – We rock the green for the eyes and Essence – Fame fatal for the lips.  I then applied the decals to my nails using topcoat.  On my pinky I did a sponged gradient using Essence – Girl with a pearl, Essence – Greyt times and Essence – Step into the grey zone.  Once it was dry I stamped the same face image using Pueen70 and Mundo de Unas in black.  I topcoated everything and then constantly felt like I was being watched. 😉

Let’s get deep for a split second.  Besides the obvious ‘mirror’ and face, I also wanted to show how we often see our own ‘reflection’ in different ways.  Sometimes it is bright and happy and ‘good’ and sometimes it is gloomy and grey and not so good.  The truth is, the reflection doesn’t change.  It’s constant.  The view is just altered by how we see our self worth measured up.  You should be the only one that determines your worth!!
