Hello lovelies,
How is it only Thursday? It feels like it should be at least Friday :P. I hope you’ve had a good week so far.
In case you haven’t memorised the prompts yet, here is a list
I really love music. A song can take you back to another time, another place. It can make you remember. It can make you happy or sad. It makes you want to move or just quietly and listen. Music is powerful. One song I am obsessed with at the moment is one song I knew I had to use for this prompt. I am sure it must be a hit with many others as well. The song I chose is….
I am really enjoying Meghan Trainor’s Me too. Also, did you know that that is really her family (her dad and her brother) when she is on the way to and in the car? It’s also her assistant / friend Jo Jo. I think this lady has tons of sass and is gorgeous to boot. I am a big fan. Anyway, let me show you the nails.
So there is a lot going on here. Let me start at my index. I started with 1 coat of China Glaze – Too yacht to handle and left that to dry completely. I then did a sponged gradient using China Glaze – What I like about blue on the top and bottom and China Glaze – Too yacht to handle in the middle. Topcoat and done. This is inspired by the background when she is singing int he blue dress, specifically when it just shows her face (pretty much the still of the video above). I do wish this gradient shows up more on the photos because it looked fabulous in real life.
Next up is my middle finger. I started with a coat of Essie – ladylike and left it to dry completely. I then did a sponged gradient using Essie – Ladylike and Essie – Butler please. Topcoat and done. This is inspired by Meghans actual nails in the video when she is wearing the blue dress. I couldn’t tell 100% if it was more french with the tips or an actual gradient but I went with gradient because it looked more like that to me. In hindsight I wish I had used a blue with a bit more of a metallic finish.
My ring finger. If you’ve seen the video this should be an obvious one. I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Pull over and left that to dry completely. I then stamped using BM313 and Mundo de Unas – Sunflower. I topcoated and that was it. This is inspired by….of course….her giraffe onesie she wears on the way to the the music video shoot.
Lastly, my pinky. I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Too yacht to handle and left that to dry completely. I then stamped using Pueen09 and Mundo de Unas – Black. Topcoat and voila. This inspired by her phone. Just after she wakes up in the video she checks her phone when she gets a reminder about the shoot. The background on her phone is a turquoise with leopard print. Of course, I can spot a leopard print from a mile away so I had to use it.
So, what do you think? Did I ….nail it? 😛 What do you think of the song too? Do you love it like me or have you just heard it way too much? I’m looking forward to seeing all the other looks inspired by songs so use the InLinkz goodie below.
