Hello lovelies,
Yay for Friday! Have you had a good week? It has felt incredibly long for me but it hasn’t really been bad. In fact it has actually been quite decent.
Do you know which prompts are still coming? Here is a list 😉
Inspired by a movie. One might be inclined to think this is easy right? How many good movies have you seen this year alone? I bet it is more than 1. That’s where the difficulty comes in. Do you go old classic. Something super new. Something super popular. I decided to go with a movie I really enjoyed and watched in 4DX. It was quite fun. I went with….
Let me show you what I did
I started with 1 coat of Essence – Wild white ways on all my nails and left it to dry completely. I then broke pieces of sponge off and sponged the different colours on in random order, but trying to keep the green / yellow in the middle. I used Sinful Colors – Endless blue, Sinful Colors – Dream on, China Glaze – Treble maker and Sinful Colors – Pull over. Once I had sponge on all the colours I didn’t think the flow between the outer colours and the green inner was right so I took a fan brush and used the outer colour and lightly fanned a bit onto the green. I also used the fan brush to add more yellow to the green. I didn’t want it to be too yellow, just a hint. The sponging was too much or not enough but the fan brush did the trick. On my ring finger I stamped the skull using W211 and MoYou stamping polish in black. On my middle finger I used a slightly broader brush and the outer colours to make the ‘eyes’ and ‘nose’. I couldn’t draw people in the place of the mouth so I just made some random little dots. I also went over the eyes and nose with a thin brush and black but in hindsight I could’ve left it off. At the time I thought the colours were too obvious but going back and looking at the poster I saw that is exactly how it should’ve been. I topcoated and that was that.
What do you think? Would you be able to tell what the movie was if I didn’t tell you? I can’t wait to see other movie creations. This is one of my favourite prompts to see the creativity that comes out of others. It’s inspiring even if I am not nearly as creative. You can see them using the InLinkz magadget below.
Thanks for reading,
