Hello lovelies,
Today is a public holiday. It’s Heritage day which means there are still so many fun things to do to celebrate our heritage even if it is on a Saturday. I will first and foremost be doing Parkrun. I had hoped to have a braai in the afternoon but it doesn’t look like the weather will be playing along. What are you up to?
We have about a week of left of the challenge which means by next week Saturday I will post the last post. Here is what you have to look forward to.
I almost feel like this choice was a no brainer for me. I went with
I bought the book when I was traveling to visit my cousin a few months ago. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down and I told all my friends. As soon as I had finished I had passed it on to a friend. She finished it no time at all and then passed it on again. This book had such an impact on me. It really made me see thing differently and made me rethink my reactions to others. It also made me cry like a little baby. Solidly, snottily cried! I also love how there are parts of the book that really stood out for me and seemed so significant and for others different parts had the same reaction. All in all I would say that is what a good book does. Anyway, you are here to see my nails so let me show you what I did.
Ok, so there is a lot going on here. Let’s go nail by nail. On my index I started with 1 coat of Sinful Colors – Snow me white and left that to dry. I then did a sponged gradient with Sinful Colors – Last chance and Essence – If I were a boy, with a larger part blue. Once that was completely dry I used a small piece of sponge and Snow me white to sponge on little clouds at the top. I then stamped the castle using w215 and MoYou stamping polish in black. I topcoated and that was that. This of course, represents the castle in the town that spoken about often, referenced in directions and also where they got to spend some time together. (see, I am trying not to give everything away too).
On my middle nails I started with 2 coats of Essence – Dare it nude and left that to dry. I then used Tip Top – Cherry’s in the snow to paint the v shape. This is of course, her red dress and the show.
My ring finger I started with 2 coat of Essence – Wild white ways and left that to dry. I then did a sponged gradient using LA Girl – Sandstrom, Sinful Colors – Cinderella, Essence – Over the rainbow and Sinful Colors – Love nails. I did overlap some of the blues on every turn with the sponge as I wanted an ocean look. Once that was dry I stamped using BM509 and MoYou stamping polish in white. This is supposed to be the beach or ocean and represents their beach holiday. (Where a lot changed)
On my pinky, last but definitely not least. I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Pull over and left that to dry. I then got stuck with the striping take to make the horizontal stripes. I then added a coat of Sinful Colors – Black on black and immediately removed the tape. Topcoat and viola. This represents the bumble bee tights. I won’t give too much away but this was something that stood out quite a bit for me in the book. I felt him remembering it was super super special.
That’s that. What do you think? Would you have guessed what this was for? Someone actually saw this and immediately guessed what it was for which made me really happy. If you want to see other book inspired nails then use the InLinkZ doo-dah below.
Thanks for reading,

I love it when a book takes you on journey but I love even more when a book is so good it goes on a little adventure of it’s own. Visiting friends and such. Lovely Mani I’m going to have to get the book to understand it now ?

This book! I LOVED it right up until the end. Then I got very upset and didn’t get over it for days. So heart breaking!
