Hello lovelies,
Gosh it has been a crazy week. With the intruder on Monday, our last zumba class on Tuesday ( and our last with Candice) and then our Zumba christmas party last night. It’s been busy! I am considering a day or two of nothing at some point in the next week 😛
I did santa hats 2 years ago and I really liked how they came out. So I thought it was time to redo them. Obviously my freehand skills haven’t improved much but I did do one or two things differently. Let me show you.
I started with 2 coats of Essence – I still believe in santa clause. I then used a nail art brush and Sinful Colors – Sugar sugar to make the hat shapes. I then used the same brush and Sinful Colors – Black on black to do the outline and ‘fold’ lines of the hats. I used my biggest dotting tool and Sinful Colors – Snow me white to make the border and end fluff of the hat. I topcoated everything and once it was dry I got to work with the flocking powder. I used regular – non fast drying – topcoat on the white and then dipped each nail in white flocking powder. I used a fan brush to brush off all the excess powder and then let the dry and set.
I really like how cute the hats look with the fluff. Unfortunately this time the red polish stained the white a bit and the flocking powder isn’t as snow white. What do you think? Does it work? It’s probably not super wearable but it’s great for a function or christmas party. I also have a swatch for you
Sinful Colors – Sugar sugar
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It’s a beautiful red polish with red glitter and gold flakes. It’s a beautiful polish that applies great too. This is one of my oldest polishes and probably one of my favourite reds. I am sad I never did grab a backup of this one. Let me give you a closer look
