Hello lovelies,
Happy Friday goodness! I don’t know why I like Fridays so much. It’s not like much changes but Friday always seems like a happy day. I hope your week has been great but your weekend even greater!
I have a Born Pretty Store stamping plate to show you today. I love the variety of nail art goodies available at Born Pretty Store and I must say, the stamping plates are next level. Not only has the quality improved tenfold but so has the variety. My collection might be getting a little too big. Today I am showing you BP L041 and you can find it here (or click on the image).
I am loving everything plaid at the moment. Plaid can be bright and bold or muted and classic. I even made myself a plaid skirt during the holidays. So of course, I couldn’t WAIT to get cracking with this plate. Before I show you what I did let’s take a moment to talk about the plate. If you’ve got any of the Born Pretty Store rectangular stamping plates then you know what to expect. The plate has a white plastic backing that is slightly larger than the plate. The size of the plate is more or less 12cm x 6cm. The plate is etched beautifully and I have not had any problems picking up images using multiple stampers and polishes. Ok, now let me show you what I did.
I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on my ring and middle fingers and 2 coats of Color Club – Baldwin blues on my pinky and index. Once it was completely dry I stamped on my middle and ring fingers using Mundo de Unas – Joy and the image on the bottom row, third from left. I then stamped on the same using Mundo de Unas – Blue and the image on the bottom row, second from left. I then used a matte topcoat on all my nails.
I really liked this. I like the combination of blues and I really love the double stamped plaid images. Naturally, because I have to plaid all the things, let me show you another version
Here I started with China Glaze – Shut the front door on all my nails. Once it was completely dry I stamped using Mundo de Unas – Red wine and the image on the middle row, second from left. I then stamped again using Mundo de Unas – Black and the image on the bottom row, second from left. I topcoated everything and that was that. I was a little disappointed that the red wine didn’t show up so well on the base colour but it was just enough. I also have some swatches for you
Color Club – Baldwin blues
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It’s a navy blue creme with a great formula.
China Glaze – Shut the front door
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a pink toned purple with so much shimmer that it almost looks metallic in person. Good formula with good opacity.
What do you think? Isn’t this a fun plate? Do you think I’ve done it justice? Do you like plaid nails? Let me know what you think. If you want to grab this plate for yourself don’t forget to use my discount code below to get 10% off.
