Hello lovelies,
Happy Friday. Gosh it has been a long week and I am SO glad it is weekend. What about you? Actually, I am just glad it is weekend because I am lazy. Other than a grid class tomorrow morning I plan on doing a lot of nothing!
It’s time for another Friday Triad post with Juanita and Joyce . So once a month we will make turns choosing someones nail art to use as inspiration for this post. You can look forward to these posts on the last friday of each month. This month was my turn to choose (eeeek!) and I chose this post by Olivia Jade Nails as our inspiration. She has many nail art looks in her post but I went with the fourth one. I chose it because it inspired so many things. The ideas just flowed. I loved the softness, I love the watercolor ish effect, I love the flowers. I wanted to play on all of it. I have many ideas but I settled on something and decided to do some of my other ideas in other nail art 😉 . Let me show you what I did.
I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on all my nails and left that to dry completely. While it was drying I decided to make the decals. I went with decals instead of direct stamping because I wanted the colour to be under the black. I stamped using Pueen99 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I then used a thin nail art brush to colour in the flowers. I tried to ‘thin’ out the polishes to be a bit more water colour like. I used China Glaze – Whip it good, China Glaze – None of your risky business and Chine Glaze – You drive me coconuts on the flowers and China Glaze – Lime after lime on some random stems and leaves around the flowers. Once the decal was dry I applied it on the white using topcoat and then used a matte topcoat.
I really like how it turned out, especially matte. I can think of a few things I could’ve done differently or different colours but I really liked it anyway. It was also very bright and eye catching and I got a lot of comments while wearing it. What do you think? What would you have done differently? I can’t wait to see what the other ladies came up with. I will update the links once they have posted but in the mean time check out Joyce and Juanita. It’s also Juanita’s birthday so give her some birthday love while you’re there ok 😀
Thanks for reading.
Joyce
Awesome!! This has to be the summer-y sister to my spring manicure… it looks like a happy party on your nails 🙂

Thank you! I think mine might be the amateur summery sister to your perfection (can you tell I am in love with yours?) I did enjoy the bright colours. 😀

Thank you so much. Good grief, I have to admit. I am absolutely in love with what she did. Don’t tell her but I am going to steal all her ideas 😛
