Hello lovelies,
The joys of a long weekend with a public holiday Monday is that the week feels incredibly short. I had the best time visiting my cousin and playing with my favourite little humans and it seemed to be over in a blink of an eye. Luckily it was the best weekend ever! Now it’s Wednesday and we are downhill to the weekend again! What did you get up to?
I had such a great weekend that I completely forgot to schedule the Tuesday Stamping #95 post for yesterday. So I am going to schedule it for next week and there will be 2 in a row. For today, I have something that was an experiment and I am not sure if it worked. Let me show you
I started with 2 coats of Nubar – Noir on all my nails and left that to dry completely. I then used a gel topcoat and my fan brush to make a wispy pattern down the centre of each nail. I cured the topcoat and then used Born Pretty Store holographic pigment powder on the gel topcoat. It worked beautifully and once I washed off the rest of the pigment I added a gel topcoat and cured that again.
I really love the contrast of the black on the holo and I love the wispy fan brush pattern. I wish I had I done narrower squiggles or more feathery on the sides but next time right? What do you think? Does it work? I am really having fun with this pigment powder from Born Pretty Store and getting great results. It’s not every day that I pick up holo in my lightbox and I think it shows off quite well here. Have you tried this powder? What do you think of it?
Thanks for reading,
Siobhan

Ahhh yay!!! Thanks so much V xxx

I really like it! This kind of pigment is the only reason I would really consider using gels. I think the thinner/more feathery look would be great too!

Thank you so much. You know how I feel about gels. But for the sake of compromise I use a gel topcoat. I also think you can do more with a topcoat compared to a solid colour. Luckily I’ve discovered a base coat that turns into a peel off base coat with it 😛

Love it!!

*does not want to look… doesn’t want to be lured to the gel side 😉

I have to tell you. I spend ages giggling at your comments. You are so funny. Not only do we clearly think the same when it comes to colours, we also have the same sense of humour. 😛
I am NOT a gel fan. When I want to use pigment I use a gel topcoat and when I use the WnW protective base coat it turns into a peel off base coat. Total win!!
