Hello lovelies,
Yes another post. I have so many new polishes and goodies to show you. If I leave them for normal scheduling it will be forever till I’ve shown you everything. So I have decided to throw in a few extra posts this week so that I could show you the new stuff before you miss out on anything. Let me jump straight to it.
Today I am showing you the Me & my umbrella trend collection from Essence. This collection is available at Dischem only and it is perfect for the start of Autumn.
Before I show you the polishes I just need to mention something. A few months ago I did some naughty things with my nails and the result is some ridges on my nails. The healthy nails are busy growing in and I don’t have ridge filler base coat. So this is a factor with these swatches and I will mention it with each one. This is all me, not the polish. This is also not really visible in normal situation but because these photos are taken so close up, you can see it. Let’s get started.
Essence – Crazy autumn love
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a deep oxblood red with a rubbery matte finish. The application was quite smooth and easy. Even though you can see my bad ridges through the polish I think it looks quite good if you don’t take that into consideration. It’s a beautiful color and I see this as being a firm favourite this season. I think this is just as beautiful with a topcoat.
Essence – I <3 rainy days
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It is a dusty rose pink with a hint of nude and a rubbery matte finish. I am in love with this colour. This had a great formula, applied well and beside my nail ridges, it has a smooth finish. This one might be my absolute favourite of them all. This colour is everything.
Essence – I have my pocket full of sunshine
This is 3 coats with no topcoat. It is a cream creme with a rubbery matte finish. This polish is opaque enough to not need 3 coats but it was a bit patchy when I applied. Next time I would wait longer between coats because I suspect it drags the bottom coat when you apply the second. It’s a pretty colour but it isn’t super unique and I have a similar shade in Essence and other brands. I suspect I just feel this way because it didn’t apply as beautifully and smoothly as the previous ones.
Essence – Take me to the clouds
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a dusty olive green with a rubbery matte finish. Even though this applied easily and smoothly I think it looked the mostly lumpy over my ridged nails. I suspect the colour just shows imperfections more than the others. It is a beautiful shade and quite unique as well. It did applied smoothly and easily.
What do you think? Which is your favourite? Have you picked up any of these? I think all of these shades look stunning with glossy topcoat as well. My favourite is I <3 rainy days. It is the most stunning colour.
Thanks for reading,
