Hello lovelies,
I hope you had a stunning day off yesterday. If you’re lucky, you have today off too and you’re enjoying a great long weekend. I am 😀
It’s time for another Friday Triad post with Juanita and Joyce . So once a month we will make turns choosing someones nail art to use as inspiration for this post. You can look forward to these posts on the last friday of each month. This month we are back at the beginning and it was Juanita’s turn to choose. Juanita chose this post by Paulina’s Passions. I loooooooove this and I was really quite excited to give it a go. Then I ran out of time and I literally did this just hours ago. Not my favourite way of doing something, especially something new. I struggled with this one because of my own doubts so let me show you what I did.
I started with the transparent black base. I made this myself and I used it quite a while ago. On the first coat I thought it might be ok but then I started doubting myself and thought it would be too light. I added another coat and now I think it ended up being too dark. I didn’t realize it till it got to photo taking but anyway, it is done. I then left that to dry completely while I made the rose decals. I stamped using BP-L029 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I then filled in the roses using first China Glaze – Ruby pumps and then Essence – Fame fatal. I filled in the leaves using Essence – Beijos de Brazil. I left those to dry and while that was happening I continued on my nails. I stamped on my pinky and index using BP-L054 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I then made a black border on all my nails using a thing brush and Nubar – Noir. Once everything was dry, I cut the decals into individual roses and then placed a few on each nail on my ring and middle fingers. I topcoated and that was that.
It’s nowhere near as gorgeous as the original. I also wanted to ‘recreate’ this one instead of use it for inspiration even though I didn’t have any of the products she did. I might try this or something similar again when I have more time and really could give it a shot. What do you think? Does it work? I wish I didn’t add that second layer of the transparent black. I did like it, it’s not perfect but I like the colours. Don’t forget to check out Joyce and Juanita to see how they absolutely rocked this! Have a great weekend!
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
I can see what you mean by skipping the second coat of black next time, but please don’t change anything else! Your roses are absolutely gorgeous and the geometric stamp and the borders are just perfect. I KNEW you would do an awesome job, even if you were pressed for time, and I was right *smug grin*

Hahaha you always say the nicest things. Thank you so much. I felt really eh about it but only because I felt so rushed. I feel like I don’t do good work when I am rushing but I did end up liking this. I wish I showed some restraint with the black but hey, 😛
Juanita
I agree about the base… but other than that I think you did a great job. I especially like the slight shimmer you see in the roses.
Michelle Roberts
Thank you so much! That really means a lot. That shimmer (Ruby pumps) is gorgeous!

Maybe black background is little to opaque but I love the final result anyway 🙂

Thank you so much, I so appreciate it. And definitely agree about the black.

Your rose decals look fantastic!

Oh gosh, thank you so much. I always feel like you are the rose queen so this is a HUGE compliment.
