Hello lovelies,
Did you have a good weekend? I had planned to do as little as possible now that the renovations are done but I forgot to consider all the work left for us. We had to move everything back to it’s spot, find new spots for things now that the area has changed and do a lot of cleaning. I also planted some pots for the patio. Basically, we worked our butts off. It was worth it though because it really looks nice now. What did you get up to? Did anyone do the Comrades marathon?
It’s time for the next prompt in the #52weeknailchallenge from Polish Portfolio. This challenge is similar to the 31 Day challenge except this is one prompt for every week of the year. You can share yours on any day of the week as long as it falls within the week. Here is the list of prompts and you can use #52weeknailchallenge to keep track of any posts. I hope you’ll join in.
The prompt this week is ‘Inspired by a game’. I wasn’t sure if I was going to do this one. I couldn’t really decide on what to do and when I tried one it was a total fail. In the end I tried this and I quite liked it. Or at least enough to use it 😛 Let me show you what I did.
I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on all my nails and left that to dry completely. On my middle and ring finger I used tape to mark off half my nail horizontally. I then used Sinful Colors – Ruby ruby on the other half and removed the tape immediately after. While that was drying I then stamped on my pinky and index. I used the zig zag stamp on BM423 and Mundo de Unas – Yellow to stamp one line of zig zag. I then stamped the same image with Mundo de Unas – Black. I tried to line it up with the yellow zigzag. I then used a thin nail art brush and Sinful Colors – Black on black to make a thin black one where the white and red meet. I then used a dotting tool to make a small black dot in the middle of the black line. Then I used a smaller dotting tool to make a small white dot in the middle of the black one. Finally, I topcoated everything and that was that.
What do you think? I probably don’t have to say what game I used for inspiration (Pokemon go, just in case) and I hope I did an OK job being inspired. I actually quite liked how it turned out, specifically the index and pinky. I am quite chuffed that I could line up the stamping as well as I did. I must say it is much easier with a zig zag 😉
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
My nieces were visiting (read: pick up some seeds for vegetables they plan to put in their gran’s garden once they’ve turned into small plant 😉 ) when I opened your post. They immediately recognized the game so now they’re begging me to do their nails just like that… I guess you did great 😀

YES!!! You can’t get higher praise than that!! I hope you gave in to their requests 😉 Thank you so so much!

The zig zags were stamping! Wow! I would’ve guessed vinyls.
I wonder if Juanita did Pokémon Go too lol
Juanita
Haha no!!! I didn’t even think of that! I’m jealous Michelle did though. It looks great!
Michelle Roberts
ahhh thank you!!

Stamping! I had so much fun doing it. This is what tempted my experimenting with french tip stamping.
I had a little giggle when I saw you did pokemon nails too. I actually expected a few more 😛
