Hello lovelies,
I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was productive but restful as well. I must apologize for not having a post up on Friday. I have been quite sick and after attending my cousins funeral / memorial on Thursday I just couldn’t even get myself to sit up, never mind pull my computer closer. Everything is back on track though so thank you for being patient with me.
It’s quite insane that we are already on Week 28 of the #52weeknailchallenge from Polish Portfolio. This challenge is similar to the 31 Day challenge except this is one prompt for every week of the year. You can share yours on any day of the week as long as it falls within the week. Here is the list of prompts and you can use #52weeknailchallenge to keep track of any posts. I hope you’ll join in.
Week 28 prompt is winter. Sounds easy right? I had so many ideas and I probably tried them all. After 11 million fails I just opted for something simple and easy but still close to what I wish winter was. Our winter is pretty warm. Our days are hot and summery and our evenings are cool. It does get cold for us but I am also aware that most places are probably much colder. So I don’t have the luxury of wearing nice warm winter knits and coats. I live to dream! So let me show you what I did.
I started with 2 coats of Wet n Wild – Bite the bullet and left that to dry completely. I then stamped on all my nails using the knit image on Pueen104 and Mundo de Unas – Holy. I then stamped the little jersey on my middle ginger using Born Pretty plate L027 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I stamped the rest of the winter wear using BP-L029 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I topcoated everything and once it was completely dry I topcoated with a matte topcoat.
I also have a swatch for you of
Wet n Wild – Bite the bullet
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It is such a beautiful colour. Is it lavender? Purple? Taupe? I don’t know but it is gorgeous. It is also beautifully opaque and applies like butter. I especially love this shade mattified.
What do you think? Does it work? Is it wintery? What are your winters like? I love winter and prefer cold over hot any day. I know our winter isn’t that cold and maybe I would feel differently if it was but I love winter.
Thanks for reading,
Renita
So very wintery 🙂 and that wnw is lovely! I wish we had an actual winter, 30 degrees is not what I’d call winter

It is probably my biggest sad. That we don’t have proper winter. I mean our nights can get cold but our days are still warmer than some places have in summer. It seems so unfair! Thank you Renita! x

Remind me to invite you for a visit when I’m up to my ankles in yucky half melted snow slush… let’s see if you’ll still enjoy winter then :p
Anyway, your nails look definitely ready for winter and what a glorious base… beautiful!

I would LOVE to experience that much cold. It is probably one of my bucket list items!! So consider that invitation accepted!! 😛
Thank you so much. I really loved the base colour too.
