Hey hey guys,
I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was equal part busy and relaxing so it was the perfect combo. Did you do little or did you do something fun and exciting? I thought for sure that summer was on it’s way in a super hurry but after this weekend I am not sure. I am MORE than happy to wait though 😉 Also, it’s less than 2 weeks till Muddy Princess. Eeeek!
As this challenge is on the downhill I realise how much I have enjoyed it and I will definitely be doing it again next year (well, 99% sure I will 😛 ) Are you going to join too?
Here we are at week 33 of the #52weeknailchallenge from Polish Portfolio. This challenge is similar to the 31 Day challenge except this is one prompt for every week of the year. You can share yours on any day of the week as long as it falls within the week. Here is the list of prompts and you can use #52weeknailchallenge to keep track of any posts. I hope you’ll join in.
This week the prompt is ombre. Here is my understanding of the difference between ombre and gradient. Ombre is when the colour change is from nail to nail and gradient is when the colour change is all on one nail. I don’t know if this is accurate but this is how I understand it and that is what I used today. Let me show you what I did.
On my pinky I started with 3 coats of Dare to wear – Mint jubilee. On my ring finger I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Too much of a good fling. On my middle finger I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Partridge in a palm tree and on my index I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Don’t teal my vibe. Once everything was dry I decided the ombre needed a little something extra so I stamped on each nail using MoYou explorer 3 and Mundo de Unas – Mustard. I topcoated and that was that.
What do you think? At first I was very unsure. My initial thought was ‘Oops, I think I just messed that up’. I wore it for the rest of the day and the more I looked at it the more I fell in love with it. I really enjoyed the colours together and even though I think the mustard stamping looks better on the darker nails I think it turned out ok. This all started very iffy for me. I wasn’t sure about the ombre and I wasn’t sure about the stamping but I ended up feeling ok with to just go with it. What do you think? Does it work? What is your understanding of ‘ombre’?
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
My weekend was way too busy… and I’m still wondering where it disappeared to as I’m sure someone stole at least a day and a half!
As far as I’m concerned you did great! The ombre is just about perfect and the stamping adds just that little more oomph… beautiful manicure 🙂

I am so glad I am not the only one that feels that way. I swear there is a weekend thief here every weekend. It feels like I get half done on a weekend I swear.
Thank you so much! That is very high praise coming from you 😀
