Hey hey you guys!
Did you have a good week? I am absolutely thrilled it is weekend. I feel like I need to sleep for a few days. I just can’t shake this damn cough and it is exhausting. I am aching in all kinds of places and I have no legit reason for these aches and pains. Ugh. Other than that it has been a pretty good week. Tell me about yours. Any exciting weekend plans?
Thanks to our fantastically slow postal system I only recently got my June polish from the Dollish Polish – Why can’t every day be halloween series. I also got the July one but let’s start here. This polish is inspired by the John Landis classic, an American werewolf in London. Let me show you,
Dollish Polish – The slaughtered lamb
This is 2 coats with topcoat. It is described as a russet brown holo, with a red/green duochrome shift, accented with red color-shifting micro glitters, and black micro glitters and shreds. I must admit, I didn’t see much of the red once on the nail but there is a hint on the edges, especially my ring finger. The polish is like a nutty, caramel brown and the holo is just gorgeous. It is a scattered holo and again, in the lightbox you can see a hint on the edges (look at my pinky in the second photo). I am however, obsessed with the black glitter and shreds. It looks so cool and really gives the polish a pop. This polish applied beautifully and was much more opaque than I expected. It is also more beautiful than I could have imagined. Let me give you a closer look and also a blurry shot so you can see the holo
The minute I saw this polish I knew I wanted to pair it with a. specific colour and I had this vague idea in mind about how. I am not sure if it came out how I envisioned but I love how it turned anyway. Let me show you
I started with 2 coats of Dollish Polish – The slaughtered lamb and then on my middle and ring finger I stamped using BP-L047 and Mundo de Unas – Fiji. I really wanted to pair this bright teal shade with the brown holo and somehow the leaves just seemed to work. I topcoated and spent the day staring at my nails.
What do you think? I absolutely love the colours together. I was very tempted to make my index and pinky white but to be honest, I wanted to show off as much of the beautiful holo as I could. It somehow reeled summery without having to be neon. What do you think of the polish? Have you got it? Have you got any of the polish from this series? I know we are getting closer to the end of season 2 and I am not suer if it will continue in the same theme. I have a suspicion it will be changing 😉 Whatever it will be, I am sure it will be awesome. Let me know what you think of this and I’ll make sure to get the next one swatches to show you asap. Have a fabulous weekend and I will see you on the other side.
