Summer picnic nail art

Goodness but the week has flown so far!  How has your week been?  This weekend is a long weekend for us and I am actually quite excited.  Nothing really changes but this long weekend (or more specifically – the public holiday) always feel like it really means it’s summer time.  It reminds me of holidays and sun and swimming.  I am not really a summer girl but there are a few nice things about it 😉

Last week we had a few days of super summer weather (It’s not even really proper spring yet – help me) and even though I almost melted, it did make me think of bright summer colours and summer fruit.  I then remembered this image I’ve been meaning to use for forever and I knew this was a great opportunity to combine it all.  Let me show you,

I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on all my nails and left that to dry.  While it was drying I started making the decals.  I stamped using BM-S408 and Mundo de Unas – Black.  I then filled in the watermelons using Color Club – Electro Candy (pink) and Color Club – What a shock (green).  While that was drying I stamped the ants on my ring finger using Lina Summer 02 and Mundo de Unas – Black.  I then applied the decals to the rest of my nails and topcoated everything.

What do you think?  This might be a little known fact about me but I HAAAATE ants.  They are the most disgusting insects in the whole world.  They completely freak me out.  When I saw this plate from Lina I immediately spotted the ants, got a little freaked out and then I knew I HAD to have it.  Isn’t it cute?  As usual, ants don’t take long to show up once you enjoy some fruit outside.  I really liked how this came out.  I was worried it might be a bit silly at first but I really like it.  What is your favourite summer fruit? Do you have issues with ants?  Man I get all itchy when I just think of them!
